The Undead Onslaught
Thaddeus looked across the barren plain towards the huge city fortress. He looked at his bonemail and clenched his skeletal fist. The pale master's long, black hair swept up in the wind from under his helmet. Out of the darkness, a lone archer appeared and fired an arrow. The arrow pierced Thaddeus's body, but apparently failed to do any real damage. The minotaur pale master looked down at the arrow lodged in his undead gut and ripped it out. Thaddeus then leaped towards the fleeing archer and struck him across the back of the head, killing him instantly. Thaddeus turned and saw an assassin behind him. Thaddeus swiftly ducked to avoid the sword the assassin held, and then grabbed him by the neck. With amazing strength, the pale master lifted the assassin from the ground, choking him. The man stopped struggling and disintegrated to dust, which was then blown away by the wind. Thaddeus continued walking towards the town.
Thaddeus approached the fortress gate, a cold aura of power surrounding him. Several guards on the top of the wall spotted him and screamed, running off in search of their officers. Thaddeus lifted a gaunleted fist and 2 undead ogres emerged from the ground. They hefted a battering ram and swung it against the gate. WHAM! The gate cracked slightly, vibrating from the blow. The ogres struck six more times, until the gate collapsed. Thaddeus strolled through the streets, striking down civilians and soldiers alike. OOC: Good characters, you can either be in the city and fight, or you can see the city under attack and rush to it's aid. Evil characters, you are currently storming the city. |
Ooc: Is it daytime or nightime?
|
OOC:Night. Undead can't stand sunlight. Plus, I know that your character is a vampire.
|
Ooc: WOOT!... I mean, VLAH! I can post!
Ic: Movado squatted silently upon the ledge of the abandoned temple, looking very much like the gargoyles that sat stonily upon their perches. He scanned the small town and fortress, undead eyes revealing much in the darkness: hundreds of undead beings were storming the village and it's people. They struck swiftly and silently, those that lived on the outskirts of the town died in their sleep, killed by the advancing hoard. It was not until they reached the middle distance between the town and the guarded fortress that the humans began puting up resistance, but it seemed as if it were too late for the village. Two undead, a zombie and another Vampire, obviously its superior, approached the temple from the east. Movado leaped from his perch, landing squarely upon the zombie, bones cracking as the undead crumpled. Movado looked up gazing into the eyes of the vampire, who stood stunned by the sudden arrival. Movado took advantage of this momentary distraction, unsheathing a short sword and decapitating the dumbstruck creature in one swift motion, then using the momentum to drive the sword deep into the crumpled undead's cranium, killing the wounded zombie. Movado licked clean the blade before returning it to its sheath, then continued down towards the center of town, searching for more enemies. |
Thaddeus soon saw the humans trying to resist, but the undead were too strong. The minotaur strode towards a line of three houses and swung his spiked chain. The head of the weapon hurtled through the air, crushin three homes. He closed his eyes for a moment and listened to the screams of agony coming from all directions. He then continued fighting, striking down the humans like rag dolls.

Talos was perched a top the same temple as Movado, and his leap followed Movado by mere seconds, but his enhanced jumping ability put him 70 or so feet in front of Movado, where he landed on top of two zombies, crushing their frail bones with his momentum. He stuck his spear between the bones of one the crushed zombies and then flicked its mangled corpse at 3 more of the mindless drones who were rapidly approaching. He then leapt back, in order to gain a more strategic view of the battle zone.

Arakath walke calmly amongst the midst of the battle as undead and human fought. He hacked his way through the masses, heading towards the city walls. They had been breached, at one point, but Arakath didn't much fancy circling and risking his neck. With ease, he jumped onto a soldiers back, swung his blade around with a wooshing sound, hacked off the poor mans head, and still managed to get decent leverage onto the wall.
Still clutching onto the stone with his gauntleted fist, he sheathed his sword for the moment, and began to claw his way up the preceface. An arrow peirced his shoulder, causing him to lose grip for the moment on his left arm. He gave a little muffled cry as he pulled it out with his teeth; causeing him much pain in having to twist his neck about in an akward position. A few more arrows wizzed past him. 'I wonder if they'll hit me again. They seem to be struggling...' He thought to himself as he shifted his position to dodge another arrow. Quickly as his immortal speed would allow, he scuttled up the wall, hopping over the meager defenses. The archers gave startled cries at him being upon them so quickly. He reached out to the closest one, grabbed his throat, and grinning at the others, tore out the man's spine. Blood sprayed everywhere. Drenched in crimson, Arakath lept into action at the startled Archers, thrown off by the sudden death of a comrade in such a brutal and disgusting manner. Arakath tossed two over the wall to the undead hordes below, smashed in the thirds face, and grabbed the fourth. The others started to retreat, heading to the citadel in the center of the huge fortress. Arakath held the struggling Archer by the throat, listening to him choke and hack from his strong grip. Arakath heard his heart lessening, but was two destracted at the moment by the pure destruction and decimation of the fortress. Below, common townsfolk and militia were being slain with no remorse. Screams of fear, agony, and utter pain rang through the streets. He smiled, delighted. So many other seiges had gone in such a similar manner, and so many more were to come. He brought the struggling man in his grip closer to him, so that they were face to face. He was half drenched in his comrades blood, and was turning a bit pale. Arakath loosened his grip, snapped the mans neck aside, and brutally tore into the Archer's throat with his fangs, gorging himself upon the blood. After a moment, he threw the corpse to the ground, a disgusted look upon his face. Taking his saturated cloak, he wiped as much blood as he could from his face. It didn't much help, seeing he was covered from head to toe, with the sticky, hot life-blood of the humans. He stood there, and crossed his arms, enjoying his small moment of rest, watching the fortress begin to burn. He smiled. "They're not even worth killing." Arakath chortled to himself. |
Chograth saw the Vampyr climb the wall, began walking toward him, thinking him to be another traitor, then he saw the creature rip the neck out of one of the archers. Chograth walked closer, "You any good with a bow?" he called to the creature, holding out a hand for him to climb onto.

Cid and several soldiers hearded a small numbers of civillians to safety (for the time being) inside of the most secure buildings. It wasn't really Cid's kind of work and he tryed to get every passing soldier to take his place but they all ignored him and took of towards the battle. He was almost pleased when an undead ogre smashed his way between clusily smashed his way between him and the others.
"Go on," he shouted past the ogre, "Ill take care of this guy." Cis smiled and took a combat position. |
Sounds of nearby battle blasted in Movado's enhanced ears, a familliar voice called out in pain. Movado called to Talos, "Go on, I'll find out where that came from." he then ran for the source of the scream, only to find Vellar, his undead companion beaten near to death by an undead Giant, not far away.
Baring his fangs in a melevolent hiss, Movado stalked towards the Giant; but noticed something he did not expect. There were few defenders of the fortress that Movado hadn't observed, this was no different. The Giant was squaring off with a short young human, whome Movado remembered as Cid, a mercenary who had recently pledged his services to the town. Movado looked drew his blades as he silently snuck up on the Giant, catching they eye of the young defender just long enough to reveal his intentions and establish himself as an ally... |
