politicians
Yes, not all politicians are created equal. Right now, I'm seeing a lot of politicians in Congress that are either corrupt or not entirely sure where their constituency lies.
Just wondering if there's anyone else researching the money trails of the Congress that isn't listening to the people? |
Hooboy, have fun with that.
My favorite example of that is all the Senators' kids and wives who work for airlines and pharma companies and military contractors, whose job description is "be a relative of a US Senator." |
Well, I'm more or less interested in seeing who's financing the corrupt ones. Or in finding out which are just sheer idiots who should be voted out in the most expedient fashion (like Orrin Hatch.
|
Ooh ooh ooh, are you going to say anything original? Or will it be the same old "politicians are corrupt and evil and not nice and want to take all the monee in the wurld and buy a poney!" stuff?
Now, I'll admit that there are quite a few corrupt politicians, but not every single one of them has taken bribes from corporations. OF course, we could totally solve the problem of business-spawned corruption by socializing everything! |
That's why I'm researching it. I want to find out who of Congress at this moment takes money from organizations such as DirecTV, Microsoft (yeah, suing them is old but I'm interested in seeing who to vote out and stuff since they're not interested in the little people hacking and making other OS's), RIAA and things like that.
Find out who to support with my vote in GA and who not to. Never said I'll finish in a day. But I'd appreciate the sarcasm being toned down a little. I'm interested in this because fairly soon, is an election for Congress. Better to see all the sides of a debate for the seniors and see why to switch them out or keep them in. |
Give up. You'll never find out which politicains are corrupt or not, thats why they're all still in office. This is a silly and hopeless goal.

The average cost of a large-scale political campaign is somewhere in the tens of milions of dollars. Where do you think they get this money?

I'd try www.opensecrets.org (I think that's the site). I've had to do research like this for my political science classes. You can find information on the campaign contributions for most candidates for most offices. Your state may or may not have much info on it.

Yeah, I had to do research there too. If you're determined thats a good place to start.
