Suddenly, for no reason I can fathom, all my interest in this has just died.

Maybe the idea of an army/war based RP doesn't seem so good anymore...

Well, here's the story.

You people are recruited to follow this upstart "Alec" to where he thinks the first sign will be.

Necromancer attack, with a totem being destroyed that fits exactly with the prophecies of Alec's dad.

Cut over to a nearby city to regroup a bit, find it oddly corrupt. Sorceress leader, and when we overthrow her the defences get fucked up. We can't diddle daddle because we're ordered to reinforce the main army. Guardians decide to take the city.

After we arrive Calvary style, we find there's another force closing from behind. Our characters splinter off to see if we can take down the head of that snake. Meanwhile, Guardians are all gathered, and learn of an ancient isle called the Forgotten Realm. They go to investigate because it could very well contain the end of the world.

As we try to mop up, we meet the Everchosen. I.E. the big bad dude. Picture a centaur in oily black armour that always moves, with a huge shield, a roman style helmet. Now, give him a sword called the Slayer of Kings that constantly reforms and can smash Mithril apart easily. Our supreme commander dude dies fighting him.

To mock us, he lets us haul ass away to warn that the realms of men are pretty much doomed. The kings refuse to listen, and instead order us to go see what we can do about this small Orc incursion. While smashing this, a second sign gets revealed. Alec's god tells him that they cannot report back.

An upstart commander goes anyway. He dies. We go to another fortress, and warn the leader. He's an old guy, and tries to lead his people. The Everchosen smashes him clean into the ground. His son arrives with a sword that's the third sign. He sees his father die, and orders his knights to Rohan them.

We retreat into the city that's getting pummelled. As we flee, we learn of an old elf who helps us escape. Guardians have been kickin' ass and discovering a conspiracy.

We learn Alec's sword is the fourth sign. He also finds a passage in a scripture called the "Song of War" his dad wrote. In it, it says that the sword of the sky (it's blue, remember?) would clash with the denizens of the deep, and when it's wielder entered combat with the Everchosen, it would signal the end of the world.

We go to the dwarves, who decide that Alec CANNOT fight the Everchosen NO MATTER WHAT. He's doing another seige, and we try to get Alec out. Except this don't work well, and we only barely get near the escape when the seige happens full force.

Now, Alec breaks loose, unwilling to let the Dwarves die needlessly. He does start to fight the Everchosen, but quickly gets whalloped. And since he's dead, the "champion of light" is dead, IHMN's guy (I would use him for a plot event) would grab Alec's sword.

Unfortunately, we were wrong, and it wasn't Alec. It was IHMN's guy. Signal end of the world, until the guardians show up. My guy flips out, and grabs his sword from IHMN's guy, ending the combat that should end the world, and impales himself on it.

So, effectively, the sword felt a "major" life die. And since the Everchosen needed that sword to fight the Slayer of Kings, and my guy takes it into the afterlife with him, the Everchosen can't end the world anymore.

At which point the Dwarf High King walks out and bashes some skulls.

Curtain down, curtain up, actors enter stage right, bow x3, exit stage left, curtain down, fin.

I just realized. IHMN could/would finally be responsible for the end of the world.

He must be thrilled.

Forever Zero 06-24-2004 06:58 PM

He would be, if you hadn't called the whole thing off...

*Points and laughs at IHMN*

So what changed your mind?

Darth SS 06-24-2004 07:03 PM

Somehow, I realized having people try to control armies, and NOT god-mod seemed highly improbable.

A few would have their guardians there.

And at least one idiot would try to attack the Everchosen. Watching another player suddenly get brutally smeared for no apparent reason never really helps an RP survive.

Yeah, it really is kind of weird when your character's head is ripped off by a demon while you're sleeping.

Forever Zero 06-24-2004 07:57 PM

You were hypnotized, not sleeping...

lazy man 06-24-2004 07:58 PM

No, I was sleeping in the real world. I was asleep, he was getting his head ripped off.

Forever Zero 06-24-2004 08:01 PM

Ahh. Well, it happens to the best of us. It would only have gotten worse in the second mission. No one had died to flying bed yet, and when the Dimensional Shambler showed up, it might have gotten ugly...
