Just wondering, but are the mods gonna do anything about the huge amount of threads here? the old forum had this nice...homely feel to it, but this one's just weird. i'm guessing that we're just gonna have to wait out the storm; i can't think of any better solutions. Some of the guys from the older forum know what i mean... i dont think lockeownzjoo or whatever would like this....or krylo, and maybe even kefkataran. maybe im just retarded, but the forum seems to have gotten worse since the switch.

Alot of threads are common in forums with many members.

Ok, so you want this to be a forum without any talking going on. What, we should all post under two threads for everything and anything? Based on the rules, we need to start more threads in order to talk about different things so that it doesnt fall under the spam catagory. We have to stay on topic, so if we want to talk about something else, that means a new thread. If we dont do this, then we need to be able to go off topic. As thats not going to happen, we will have to have more threads. Thanks.

I never said i want people to just shut up...but like 8000 posts in practically a week is ridiculous. Anyone who was in the old forums knows what i mean. the new forum has a completely new feel to it. I mean, 380 posts in such a small amount of time...its madness!
Once again, I never said i wanted everyone to shut the hell up. It's the people who make retarded threads, retarded posts, or somehow to have 380 worthwhile posts.

I'm not gonna say anything about the mods cuz there arent very many of them, and they cant always be on. But there's nothing that pisses me off more than worthless posts. Idiots who think that calling fighter the ultimate god of swords cuz hes so smart...nobody cares. and anyone who does care...is not better than them. If every thread had a worthwhile point, which, believe me, they don't, i wouldn't care. what we probably need is some more mods...theres probably another solution, but i dont know what it is. The warm, sweet embrace of death is calling those with, lets say, over 300 posts.

Just out of curiousity...wouldn't it be far easier to just not read the posts/topics you find don't meet your standard of quality? Especially considering that the alternative would seemingly involve careful observation of all posting, which in itself has so many inherent problems...

It's not that hard to observe the threads...you see something retarded, you tell a moderator. Or, better yet, you tell the user to shut the hell up and read the rules. i know its gonna be alot harder to keep this forum good with all the new users, but theres no harm in trying. cutting down on all of the shit topics/replies will help the forum out alot.

Well... I do agree there have been a few more silly posts... but I don't know if they're much more silly than some of the posts we had on the old Forums, there's just more of them. I can see where that would annoy you, but it's just a side-effect of having a huge influx of people. On the mod's side, they've been doing a pretty good job, from what I've seen. The only two really annoying people I've seen, one has been banned... and one I'm sure is about to (just told shiney to shut the fuck up in another thread... so yah... he's gonna be banned). As for neverwhere, in his defense, I've never seen him say anything that was totally useless. I'm guessing most of those posts came from the roleplaying board. But there is quite a bit of spam that we should try to keep in check through the same methods that you just mentioned. Also, as opposed to pming a mod or whatever, just use the report post button.

I havent gone around and looked at neverwheres posts, but 380 posts in like a week seems a bit much. It probably seems alot worse cuz there was probably 8000 posts in the old forum in a couple months, not a week.

...Especially Shiney. I reported that one and just quoted the first sentence of the post for the reason. Heh. Last person who I saw get banned did the same thing, only to Mash instead. Mash gave a warning... and then he did it again... I doubt Shiney will even bother giving him a warning. Not that I mind that in the least.
