War of Forces: Chapter 3 "The Gla'en Revolution"
Three weeks had passed since the Alexis Directive was thwarted. Kardin had hardly spoken. Nothing had happened in those three weeks. Not until the Marlag headquarters burned down. Kardin had managed to preserve a chest full of his most important belongings, a small bag of gold, and the lives of very few of his troops. Over 94 Marlag had been killed. This was all because of Gla'en. They had wiped out most of Arnahk, Tramph, and a quarter of Kel Nu'ur. Kardin was furious. He had only one thought in his mind: Revenge. "We're outnumbered," He declared. "and I'm not going to lie to you, this is an incredibly dangerous mission. Gla'en has to pay. We have to get them to call off the attack. It may involve erradicating them. If it does, so be it. We may very well die in the attempt. Once again: So be it. We must do this for the people whom we care about and those whom we have already lost." He ended his sentence with a note of sorrow. "I can understand if you'de rather leave. Do so if you wish. Your type are not worthy of life or my protection. That is all." He said, leaving the new Marlag "Hideout", which was really just a hole in the ground.
Areine, who had joined the Marlag seing their cause as a worthy one, spoke up at this point "I will help you in any way I can, however, complete eradication must be a last resort, we have to stop this problem at the root, the Gla'en leader."
"Despite what humans, elves, and any other bipedal species in the world thinks, we Gorbonwitz are not stupid despite our size and general appearance. I know all that. I've been doing this much longer than you have." He was stressed. More than he ever had been.
"I apologise, I assure you I ment nothing by it. I am a friend as well as an ally and you know I would never seek to offend you or your people, and Kardin, I want you to know as a preist I can help you if your work gets to difficult." Areine knew Kardin was stressed, nothing had gone right for him or the Marlag recently, and after losing so many friends to the fire, he had a right to seek vengance, if only he would accept some help from those that remain.
"Hello!" Melandie said as she came to the hole. She had brought a basket along. She too had joined Marlag, actually right after their head quaters burned down. She knew she didn't want any more violence after the horrible trouble three weeks ago. She had almost grown peacefull again, but when the Marlag headquatres burned down, she knew she to do something. so she had joined them.
"Has anything special happened. I'm a little late today." She said turning to Kardin. |
"I must stop them. Why have they done this we can be controlled... right?" Bombshell was thinking about how he saw the Gla'en slaughter everyone in their path. "They're the same kind as me... Gla'en why can't they leave? I'm sorry fellow Gla'ens I must kill you. I'll never be like you. I'll never kill someone for no reason. I will not do any harm to anyone... except stealing. This is the day Gla'en dies... even if it means I must die after the rest are slaughtered."
OOC: Cruelty, Marlag HQ burned down, like, the previous day.
IC: "That is all." Kardin repeated. He opened the chest and pulled out a long sword. It has the words "Kardin Aeronech, The Avenger, The Cursed". The same words were written in the Gorbonwitz language on the pther side. He sheathed it, throwing his dagger into the floorand climbed out of the hole. |
Magnus arrived at the make-shift headquarters just as Kardin crawled out. He scratched at the stubble upon his chin as he spoke. "The Gla'en are currently striking at the outposts of the Relt, on the north end of the city. I believe they are softening the Relt for a full on assault."
From within his tunic, Magnus produced a map of the Northern end of the city, then spread two viles of iron shards, one grey, the other red with rust. Through magetic fields, the grey shards began to spread out to cover a great many buildings, congrigating mostly in the center to represent the battered Relt Temple. A small portion of the red shards began to congrigate around the edge of the grey shards to the west. "The Relt defences hold for now, and re-enforcements are on their way to shore up their position in the West." Grey shards from the opposite end of the map moved to the west, doubling their numbers in that area. "This however is leaving much of their eastern defences down to but a skeleton force." The rest of the Red shards began to flood into the eastern half of the map, spreading out and overlapping the grey in the Temple. "I believe that the Gla'en will attempt to invade through the east while the Relt's forces are deployed in the west, capturing the temple and catching the Relt's defenders in a pincer movement." The Red shards moved to cover the entire map. "As I see it, we have two options: One, we can move to the eastern portion of the Relt's defences and try to hold the Gla'en at bay, or we can take the second option. The second is that we use the Gla'en's tactic against them. As most of the Glaen forces will be occupied in their assault on the Relt, we insert a team of ours into Glaen territory to kill off their leader. The Gla'en will either be forced to retreat from the Relt, leaving them prime for a Relt counterattack, or they could remain in their war and let their leader die." He nodded to the Gorbonwitz. "This is how I see the siduation anyway." |
Vars and the Band of Brothers, who were now up to twenty members, stood in front of Kel Nu'ur's HQ, desperately fighting off over 100 Gla'en clanners. The Band could not hold out much longer. Their men were dropping like flies before the Gla'en archers, and only the 5 original members were not seriously wounded. Vars had 20 gashes on his arms, chest, and face. The Band of Brothers were spurred into a killing frenzy, brutally killing any Gla'en who challenged them. This is hopeless, Vars thought. We're outnumbered and outgunned. We're as good as dead.
"Vars? He's helping? Well maybe I was told half wrong." Bombshell turned to find himself surronded. "Heh." Bombshell then slaughtered Gla'ens as they came attacking him. "Idiots. I shall not be beaten. Even if you are my own kind."
