Mages of Marakta (Sign-up)
Yep. As a way to celebrate my return, I'm making an RP. I've been thinking about this for quite a while. I'll leave it up pretty much all weekend. And make sure to read everything before you make your character, there is some stuff I'm kind of strict about.
The setting is in the world of Marakta. Marakta is a world filled with magic. The entire population is separated into three different types: Mages, Carriers, and Creators. Controlling as a sort of government for the world is The Council of Sages. Sages are the oldest mage or creator of a certain class, and the wisest people alive. Being of different types, there are usually lots of small wars. But now, something is bad. Sarion, the Dark Sage, has decided that he wants to rule Marakta on his own. Either everyone does it willingly, or he will destroy the entire population, and rebuild on the ruins. And to prove he means business, he’s been leading his army to totally destroy any city within his reach. The other Sages will not allow that to happen. Each mage class has held a tournament to find the strongest mages of their class. The strongest mages have been found, and they are gathered to defend the world against Sarion. Toron, the Sage of Light, is a Master Creator, and as such, he has created the only spell that can truly stop Sarion. I would truly prefer that we have at least one person for each mage class. If someone already took the mage class you wanted, just choose another one. They’re all good. If there is already a person for every mage class and you still want to be a mage, then there can be a second mage of that kind. You’ll just have to have a story for why, like you’re that person’s assistant, or something. You can be a creator or a carrier, but we don’t need those, and I’d really like to have at least one mage per class. Mages: You all know what they are. They are the gifted people that have the ability to cast magic. (IMPORTANT NOTE: All mages have staffs. They just do. And every mage’s staff has a special crystal on their staff. Every mage makes their own crystal, so no crystal is the same. They put the crystal on the top of their staffs. They shape the crystal into certain shapes, and the shape of the crystal does special things. Depending on what shape the crystal is, it gives them some special power. Check the profile below for more info.) They come in different classes. Pryo Mage- Specialize in fire magic. They can conjure fire from thin air, and manipulate it to certain extents. Pyro mages tend to be the more aggressive types. They never back down from a fight, and they always enjoy showing off their power. Anytime there’s a war a large majority of the spell soldiers is Pryo mages. Storm Mage- Specialize in wind and electric magic. They can control the very wind and lightning, to certain extents. Storm mages are fun loving types. They enjoy playing games, and normally use their magic to have fun with people. Normally in video games, the wind magics are usually weak and underused. In truth, wind is very powerful. Tornadoes can rip apart entire towns, and wind can send a pencil clear through 6 inches of concrete. It’s very powerful, when used by a skilled mage. Hydro Mage- Specialize in both water and ice magic. They can manipulate water, and can create ice from the moisture in the air. Hydro mages are the mystic types. They are always contemplating the uses of magic, and they are the scholars of the magic types. Can normally be seen carrying loads of books. Being the scholars, they usually know how to control their spells better than most. So while it might take them a while to attack, their attacks can do very precise damage. Gaia Mage- Specialize in earth and plant magic. They can manipulate plant life and the earth to an extent. Gaia mages are considered to be the “sleeping giants”. They are big and strong, but are quite peaceful. Think of them as Buddha, only not fat. They are hard to anger because they are quite passive, but when they are angered, they will unleash all their fury on you. Beast Mage- Specialize in controlling creatures. They can control a majority of creatures that are within range. There are some creatures that are too dangerous to be controlled, but most others can. Beast mages are your typical vegetarian, animal-loving people. They love animals a lot, and disdain in killing anything. Of course, not all Beast Mages are pushovers. In fact, it was a group of rogue Beast mages that created some of the most feared creatures around, such as Basilisks and Chimeras. They even made the most fearful creature of all: the dragon. It’s the only creature in the entire world that cannot be affected by magic. Of course, these creatures in turn destroyed the Beast mages that created them. Dark Mage- Specialize in the evil and forbidden magics. The Dark mages are evil. Simple as that. They are evil, and they know it. They do evil deeds just for the heck of it. They enjoy toying with those that are weaker than them. They are the smooth villains that perform their deeds with a form of grace that is hard to copy. They don’t enjoy helping others, and the only reason they agreed to participate in stopping one of their own kind was that the deeds Sarion is performing is too barbaric for even the Dark mages. All Dark mages know that if you destroy all of the mortals in the world, there is no one left to play with. Dark mages hate Light mages, and they are bitter enemies, no matter what. Light Mage- Specialize in the holy and curative magics. The Light mages are kind of like paladins. They are good, and have a strong sense for justice and peace. They abhor anything evil, and believe that the only good Dark mage is a dead one. The only reason Light mages are working with the Dark mages is that they are honor bound to protect anyone in danger, and right now, Dark mages are also in danger. Light mages can cast healing spells, and specialize in the powerful magics of the higher order. Carriers: A large majority of the population is this. They cannot cast magic, but they have the ability to “carry” magic. They can absorb a spell from a mage by drawing it from the mage, and can then keep the spell inside themselves until they either release the spell into the atmosphere in a kind of mist, or they deposit the spell into a different mage. They can only absorb spells that they know about. They can’t just put a hand on a mage and draw some random spell. Creators: There are very few of these. These are the rare people that have the ability to create new spells. Mages can intuitively cast spells that they can do, but Creators can actually makes spells that no mage can cast without having it given to them. Creators normally are very rich. The profile for your character is below: Name: Class: (Mage, Carrier, and Creator. If Mage, what kind you are.) Staff Crystal: (Important Note: Only put down the shape of the crystal. Once you put the shape of the crystal, I will tell you the special power it gives you.) Special Power: (Like said above, I will tell you this once you put the shape of the crystal.) Appearance: (What you look like) Items: (What you’re carrying around) Bio: (History) Here’s the profile for my character: Name: Samuel Orion Class: Light Mage Staff Crystal: A large clear diamond in the shape of an eye. Special Power: The crystal on Samuel’s staff is actually a symbol of the Eye of Odin. In legend, Odin sacrificed an eye in order to gain untold wisdom. The Eye of Odin on Samuel’s staff gives him the ability to see in any part of the world he wishes. Appearance: He’s 6-ft. tall and medium build. He has piercing blue eyes and shaggy blonde hair. He wears a long white robe that has golden threads sewn into it. He wears special gauntlets made of sterling silver and leather boots. He wears a golden chain with a ruby amulet around his neck. He carries a sword on his left hip, and his staff is made of fine marble with his Eye of Odin crystal on top. Items: A sword, his staff, a book of spells, and some vials of healing potions he mixed himself. Bio: Samuel is the apprentice to Toron, the Light Sage. Samuel was originally an orphan, but Toron took him in when he was very young. Toron raised Samuel like his son, and taught him the way of the Light Mage. Though Toron himself was not a mage, he was a very wise creator, so he taught Samuel many spells and skills. Samuel enjoyed learning his spells, and listening to the stories Toron told him. Samuel is very loyal to Toron, and would do anything he told him to do. Yet Another Important Note: The Dark Mage is already taken by Dante. So, hands off. |
Damn...ok, Dark and Pyro (Celes I'm guessin) are gone...I think I'll go with either Gaia or Hydro...COIN FLIP...ok, coin says Hydro.
I'll go with a drop shaped sapphire. Just tell me power and I'll add it in when do the sheet. |
This sounds cool, I'll sign up. I wanna be a storm mage, my crystal is lightning bolt shaped. I'll post the character when I get the special power.
|
I'll be a Hydromage.
Edit: Damnit BM, always taking my stuff... Anyway, give me a second. |
Neener neener, I already called it. Booyah (that was the coin)
|
Stover, BM is already a Hyrdomage. Like said above, I want at least one mage in every category before there are seconds. Try one of the other classes, or you can even be a carrier or creator. But if you really want to be a hydromage, just wait until the other mage sections are filled, then set up your profile.
BM: Your crystal symbolizes a Tear of God. In legend, it states that the entire world was wiped out by a flood when God cried. The Tear of God crystal allows you to summon forth a pillar of water from the sky. It doesn't flood the area, but it allows you to pretty much smash whatever is beneath it. Mephisto: Your crystal symbolizes the mighty Lightning Bolt of Zues. Zues was a god known for striking down mortals with his mighty lightening bolts. The crystal allows you to shoot electricity from your hands. Storm mages may have the ability to control electricity, but they can only do it with their staffs. You, on the other hand, can actually hold it and shoot it. |
I am intrigued to say the least.
Name: Saviorus Class: Pyro Mage Staff Crystal: A large Ruby, the edges of which flair outward like the rays of the sun. Special Power:The crystal embedded into Saviorus' staff bares the power of the the sun itself. It grants Saviorus the ability is to supercharge his already formidable fire magics, temporarily granting him access to the legendary Blue Flame. The Blue Flame is 10 times hotter than a normal fire, and as such, is much more damaging. Appearance: 6'3, 200 lbs, He has a standard build and is asian in appearance, with light blue eyes, flecked with yellow. His Jet Black hair is slicked back, a streak of white hair travels from his forhead to the back of his hairline. He has a squared Jaw that is always clean-shaven. His clothing consists of a red tunic and trousers, covered by a dark red robe, with jagged white streaks traveling up the hem-line and allong the sides. His hands and feet are covered by black leather Gloves and boots respectively. A single Katana rests by his hip, while a bandolier of daggers crosses his chest. His staff is made of an Iron-Silver alloy, giving it a bright sheen in light. Items: Katana, his staff, assortment of throwing-knives, and a book of spells. Bio: Saviorus is a man borne into a legacy left by his forefathers. As far back as his family history could be traced, one member from each generation had been a Pyro Mage. He left his home at an early age to study under the Mages of the Fire, following in his Father's footsteps, though never realizing his true potential. He was plucked from relative obscurity to undergo the trials, surprising many as he proved himself to have the most potential. |
I'm kinda reminded of Quest 64...then I'm reminded of how bad that game is...characster sheet up soon, after shower and lunch and as long as nothing good is on TV.
|
Sorry, SAAM. Mephisto already called the storm. There's still Gaia, Pyro, and Beast left.
