I'm alright with being any of the mages, maybe I should "think outside the box" once in awhile and try some new mage types, like Earth, or Storm/lighting. I'm never one of those... |
Well, you could not be a mage at all, and be a Carrier instead.
Of course, Carriers are completely worthless. Sure, they are strong, but so are Gaia mages. Sure, they can take a spell from a mage, but they can't do anything with it (Besides give it to another mage, but I would assume giving a Fire spell to an Earth mage would result in bad things, and a Fire mage getting a Fire spell isn't really needed since they can just cast the spell themselves). Unless there is something about Carriers that Raiden didn't mention (I doubt it though, since most people are Carriers), I'm being the second Beast Mage, which brings a question. Do all Beast Mages have to be vegan hippies? Being some wilderness living hunter type guy who specializes in wolves makes just as much sense (Just an example). |
Mind if I put up my bio tomorrow? I gotta work in the morning from 8 'til about 4 in the afternoon.

If a creator makes a new firespell, and gives it to a carrier, the carrier can take it to a pyromancer. And a beast mage (I got the impression) could pull a bunny of a hat or a bear out of his ass, though the latter is likely to be quite painful. In fact, I would not recommend extracting animals from your ass. Or putting them in, that's out too.

Are mages born with certain spells, or do carriers have to give mages all of there spells (Since they can't come up with any spells on there own)?
And I really doubt that we will ever need a carrier to give people magic besides for story purposes once or twice, in which case NPCs can easily be used as well. Edit - The only use I can think of for a carrier is if we ever run into enemy mages that have some really fancy spells, the carrier can give them to the mages (If he can get close enough with out being horribly killed by magic that is). Of course, I'm assuming most people are planning on having there character have a bunch of random spells they will make up on the spot for when they want to use it/need it. |
Yes, considering that we are all elder/high mages, I doubt there will be many spells that we will need.

WOW... Lots of stuff to go through.
Alright. IHMN, carriers are better fighters with weapons. Our mages are going to rely pretty heavily on our magic. We aren't weaklings, but we never really had the need to use weapons. So if you want to be a master swordsman, you'll have to be a carrier. Elminster, you only drain your life when you cast a spell. You can create all the spells you want, and not feel a thing. Important for Elminster: Your crystal is an open book. It represents the Book of Ages. It will allow you to cast a large spell every so often, and you will NOT get hurt in return. IHMN, not all Beast Mages are pansies. I even put in the Beast Mage bio. Some of them are bad. Dark mages are those that practice the Arcane arts. Think of the most horrible spell you can. The most twisted thing ever. Five bucks says that a Dark Mage can cast it. As for spells, I'm pretty open on that. I mean, you were all in a tournament and beat out almost everyone else in your class. I'm pretty sure you did it with more than a Water Pillar. I don't care what spells you have, except for these limits: 1) Unless I told you otherwise, or you got Elminster to make you the spell, or you're a Beast Mage, there is no summoning any monsters. I don't want to see a bunch of Lightning Golems running around. 2) Please, no completely obliterating the area. We all have our limits. 3) If you turn yourself to be god, you're not going to be sticking around. Other than that, have fun with your spells. Forever Zero can be a Pyro Mage, and Celes will be a Dark Mage. If I'm missing anyone's crystal stuff, or anyone else has questions, just PM me. Another Important Note: Keep in mind that there was a tournament in each class to find the most powerful mage in the class. That means that one person in each mage class must be the one to be considered the strongest. The people who chose the Pyro Mage class, for example, must now talk amongst themselves to figure out who they want to be considered the winner of the tournament in their class. So, do that in PMs, or something, and then PM me to tell me who it is. And please, if you argue over it, don't get me involved. |
Any room for a time mage?
