Your video game ideas...

Let's face it. Like a mother at an art museum who says that her six-year-old could do that, we have all at one point thought to ourselves that we could design a much better game than the one we are playing. So what type of game would you design? What would it be like?

Me, I've always wanted an actual cool hunting game. Who wants to hunt deer? Raise your hand if you do. If you just raised your hand, I hate you. Anyway, how about a hunting game, in which you can hunt dragons, unicorns, dinosaurs, any mythical or cool creatures. It would be badass to hunt a dragon. Where's the fun in hunting something that can't end your life just by breathing? So I'd want a realistic hunting sim, in which you hunt the most badass creatures. I used to have this game on PC called Carnivores 2, you got to hunt dinosaours. The thrill of hearing a T-Rex roar in the distance, and realizing you only brought a crossbow. Then, reminsicing about every move you made while staring at the trophy of that same T-Rex, which you killed with that same crossbow. Awesome.

Ok, here is one I've thought would be cool. (if not a bit overdone)

It a FPS where you play a sniper and starts you out in, say, Vietnam where you go on a mission to kill some General. It would have to have a very good terrain engine to give a realistic portrayal of the jungle because it would be up to you to decide the best position to snipe from. There would be no set path with sheer cliffs on either side, you would have free range of the map around the target. Of course sneaking in and getting the good shot is one thing (and you WILL have to sneak in), on the way out it would either be run and gun or sneak out (if you needed only one shot to take out the target).

After the first mission you get requited be your typical “Black Ops” government agency and would be given missions all over the world taking out people who “Threaten US security, ect.” There would be missions in many different areas, Cities, desert, villages, etc.

Possibly you could have a partner, like real snipers, to help you out giving distance and windage and such.

The real meat of the game would be locating the target, and finding a good place to take him out.

Anyway, it is a game I’d like to play.

Many a people have dreamed about haveing a fluid fighting game. One where each button press does something different depending on the move(s) before, even your opponents. I guess just a fighting game that looks esquisit and plays naturally.

I, know, I know, there's no such thing a two favorites, but i had to add this. Take all the final fantasies, zeldas, and the like and leave them be, except for one thing. After you beat a boss/dungeon, FIGHT YOUR OWN FRIGGIN' WAY OUT!!! It would make the treasure/exp./info much more valuable if you had to trudge back to the surface (alive) instead of being given a free ride.

I thought of an actual GOD game. Where you make a world, you make the rules, and you have no restrictions. The only challenge would be how far your imagination can stretch.

I like first person shooters, and I also like RPGs. The thing that kind of irks me about first person shooters is that they all seem so short. There are never any "side quests" and things you do in the game don't affect what happens later in the game, like in RPGs where if you choose to do one thing it could alter the entire path of the game. But RPGs are entirely too drawn out and cinematic, and sometimes I really can't stand waiting my turn to attack something that's about to kill me.

So I would like to make a more in-depth FPS, where everything you do affects the progression of the game somehow, and where there are points in the game where you can stray from your primary objective and take on a side-mission of some kind...either to get a cool weapon, or find a stock pile of ammo, or to set up something that will make a difficult part ahead a whole lot easier.

While very very cool, this would be incredibly hard to make, especially to make user-friendly.

For one thing, I'd like a very non-linear RPG, where saying that you'll side with the bad guys means that you side with the bad guys. And something where, if you think you can take the guards, then you can go ahead and take 'em.

I like old school shooters way too much. To the point where I actually think up new gimmicks for them.

My idea goes along the lines of this:
-In addition to the basic "fire" and "super" buttons, you have two more buttons: "Bait" and "Switch". "Bait" leaves an invincible afterimage of your ship on the screen that moves forward at the same rate that the screen scrolls, so it essentially stays in the same place on the screen. (If you had an afterimage out already, the old one disappears.) The "Switch" button lets you instantly teleport to your afterimage; when you do, the afterimage goes to your old location.
-When you destroy enemies, they drop silver cubes that charge your super meter. But there's a catch. They have to hit your afterimage to charge the meter. The super itself is an Ikaruga-style flurry of homing lasers that fires - you guessed it - from your afterimage instead of your ship.
-When you Switch, you create a short-ranged pulse around your ship's old location that turns bullets into charge cubes.

I'm thinking it's a good basic framework that needs a good bit of refining. Opinions?

Dante, they have a project very similar to that for the XBOX called 'Fable'. Look into it.

My idea is, to take a 3D Space Shooter, give it a world to roam in, with wars between planets and such, you get to actually watch the battles take place, and play a major role in fighting them, either side. Then you throw in crazy Armored Core-esque customization for your ship.

I love games where you can alter every single aspect of your equipment. It gives me a sense of accomplishment when it comes out right.
