Mages of Marakta discussion thread

There. Since Raiden wasn't online, I took the liberty in doing this so that hte RP doesn't get filled up with crap (if you didn't want me to do this Raiden, I'm sorry, I just didn't want pages of aguing in the RP.). Let's work this out like reasonable people guys...

BMHadoken 06-28-2004 05:15 PM

I'm trying to work it out, but Jad is bending all known time and space and expects us to go along for the ride.

This just affirms that Time Magic is way too god-moddy outside videogames.

IHateMakingNames 06-28-2004 05:18 PM

Basically, what ever Jad does with that clock, destroys the universe. Event A should happen, but doesn't, so time is destoyed. One person being in two places at once, space is destroyed. Either way, we are screwed.

BMHadoken 06-28-2004 05:19 PM

Unless he can't go back in time and just sticks to speeding up and slowing down individual objects or the group. Then we all win.

I deleted all my OOC posts so now it looks kinda weird.

He could also occasionally freeze time. it would be cool, but also not too god-moddy.

Squishy Cheeks 06-28-2004 05:30 PM

I didn't stop the event from happening. it still happened. why do you guys have such a problem understanding that.

IHateMakingNames 06-28-2004 05:32 PM

Everything but your guy (From that exact moment that he turned the clock) and the sand timer thing is being turned back by time (Which means that your guy can't alter himself by time magic,). But the problem with that is you are making yourself co-exist with yourself, which is impossible, so while Time remains intact, space is destroyed.

Squishy Cheeks 06-28-2004 05:35 PM

no it doesn't. If he does not alter the course of events as they happen, time is not actually destroyed.

IHateMakingNames 06-28-2004 05:36 PM

Yes, time is not destroyed. Space however is. You can't have one without the other.

BMHadoken 06-28-2004 05:42 PM

Jad, I'd be ok with time-reversal if it was Prince of Persia-like. If it went like
You: "LOUD YELLING"
Jude: "Gah" Water Bubble
You: Time turn back, no loud yelling, no water bubble.

Then we're back at accusing the Dark Mage and Jude reading his books. But you seem to think that you can annoy until it gets to the water bubble, then end up OUTSIDE the water bubble, and claim that you're in two places at the same time but there's only one of you...then my eyes cross cuz it makes no sense and the accusations start, with everybody thinking logically on one side versus you wanting to keep your neato time reversal.

And time freezing is super god-moddy SAAM (EX: BIG bad guy, time stop, Jad stabs him in the neck)
