1 thead (100 post) for...

1) Jokes

2) Deciding the entire universe that we can agree on

3) Everyone but the player making up their character, again agreeing.

4) Coming up with the basic plot.

That seems to much for a thread (Or two).

Well, the Cold Desert Wind Discussion thred was an unprecedented 200+ posts...but let's not delve into that.

My thoughts on what characters would suit whom...

Assuming a fantasy setting:

JADGuy: Sage-type wizard, his spells are not very offensive, but can be very effective when used wisely.

IHMN: A half-demon assassin with minor mind control powers.

Forever Zero: The tinkerer and artificer of the group, he builds magical devices and constructs to support the group.

Krylo: Blackguard, a death-aspected fighter-mage, an atavistic opportunist who follows his own code of honor.

Raiden: The opposite counterpart to krylo, the glorious samurai warrior, fanatically devoted to his lord and cause.

CelesJessa: Warrior Princess, some chick with a bow who can cast clerical-type spells.

Dante: The sorcerer, master of raw elemental devastation, and usually plagued by some horrible insanity that somehow stops short of getting him hated by everyone else.

Now who have I missed out?

EDIT:

SuperSaiyan: The ass-kicking kung fu masta who commands strange and mysterious powers.

Wolf99x: The rogue, the professional who gets the job done by any and all means necessary.

Edit - Just noticed that SS said assigned. So if one of the task is to pick a genre, you're character ideas might already be gone... We can't do characters till we get the world, and we can't get the world until SS assigns us what part of it we build.

Edit dos - So, if all these desicions are going to be made on a thread, it's definatly not this one.

Raiden 06-30-2004 11:38 AM

So some people might want to start coming up with ideas for different areas.

Some example genres are:

Feudal Japan
Mideival Europe
Futuristic Sci-Fi
The Horror stuff

Squishy Cheeks 06-30-2004 11:46 AM

I'd like to throw in for setting three under used genres

Western
Bronze age (age of mythology)
Dystopian future

Actually, that would fit in ANY setting, and yup...that pretty much describes me.

Moving on to setting...

I agree with JADGuy on the Western genre idea.

It is an underused genre, and any RPs that have it, or some variation of it (post-apocalyptic desert sans mutants for example) seem to run into trouble and die...not to mention any RPs, although SS and IHMN will know what I'm talking about.

Bronze age might be interesting too, especially if we can utilize the myhtology.

I also like Feudal Japan...but that's probably because I have a preference towards hacking people to death with a katana.

Forever Zero 06-30-2004 12:15 PM

As can be guessed by anyone that has been in even one RP with me, I would lean towards Futuaristic Sci-Fi, Dystopian Future (That could be interesting if it is thought through right, and a proper idea is used in it...), and a Horrer RP could be fun as well (I had a lot of fun with the Call of Cthulhu RP...).

Everything after that falls in the Secondary catagory of things I would vote for.

Wolf99x 06-30-2004 12:16 PM

Futuristic Sci-Fi is great, especially because you can invent plausible futuristic weaponry.

Darth SS 06-30-2004 01:32 PM

Holy. Fuck.

EIGHT PAGES!? WHAT HAVE I CREATED!?

Two...things I guess...

1) IHMN- I meant, based on other characters you have seen people RP, create a character you believe they could really flesh out and "bring to life."

2) I'm gonna' be sending PMs. Within each PM is one part of the world you have to create. EX: Technological level, social structure, etc...

And I should really make a list of everyone who's in this...
