As he had to room with somebody, Risu ended up rooming with Jude.

It was a good thing Jude was in a soundproof bubble, because Risu wasn't exactly the quietest thing as he took off his plate, then his mail, his double handed sword, and his two one handed swords.

This left him in his red robes. He shrugged, got onto the bed (which creaked a bit) and went to sleep. One hand was on a sword at all times.

Samuel took another drink of his Dragon's Breath, and let loose another puff of flame. He was starting to feel a little groggy. Which was strange because burping up fire tended to have the opposite effect. As he looked around at the group, anyone who was not in bed was also looking a bit droopy. Dire and his wolves outside were already asleep, drooling on the ground. His head seemed to be forcing itself to fall over.

"So...sleepy." Before his head even touched the bar, he had blacked out.

When he came to, he wasn't in the bar. He was now tied up, in a room. It was bare with stone walls, except for a wooden door with a window in it. When he looked around, he couldn't find his staff. He stood up. Luckily his legs hadn't been tied. He went up to the door and yelled out through the window.

"What the hell is going on!" Samuel heard footsteps coming from down the hall. It was Solomon. He seemed a little upset.

"My apologies, Samuel. But my master does not wish for you or your group to proceed." Samuel kicked at the door.

"You bastard! You work for Sarion, don't you!" Solomon nodded slowly.

"He promised that if I stopped you and your group, he wouldn't harm my village. I had no choice."

"You had every frickin' choice! Do you honestly think he's going to leave your village alone? He's going to burn it to the ground." Samuel wrestled in his bonds.

"There's no use trying to fight it now. You're in an underground prison. Your friends are all in different cells, seperated in different parts. And currently, some of the villagers are shredding the books owned by the Hydro Mage. If you don't have the spell, you cannot stop my master." Solomon turned and walked away. As he walked, he talked once more.

"I'm sorry, Samuel. My orders were that if you ever entered my village, I was to do this. That was why I put up the barrier. I figured that if you hadn't found the village, there would be no need for this." Solomon then left.

Samuel felt around his neck. The ruby was still there. That was good. As long as Solomon thought that the spell was in the books and not the ruby, it would still work. He worried more about Ray. He just hoped the scholar would be able to get out. Samuel was already working on his escape plan. They had taken his staff, but had forgotten his sword...

(OOC: Told you there would be some action. Break out, and try to group up. And don't forget. Chances are, they don't want us to leave. So we will have to fight our way out. Have fun escaping! :D )

Ray had drifted off to sleep in his room after Samuel spoke to him in the road, but not before finishing his reading in the same phasing tome, which he presently was unable to find, along with his staff, belt, and bow.
shit
he thought, inwardly enraged at his own stupidity at falling asleep without setting any wards.
Dammit! I was taught better than this!
he raged, finally noticing the closed cover of his cell's viewing hole and beginning to form a plan.
I need to know if there are any guards about
he pondered, the dingy stank of the cell irritating his eyes and nose. He finally came upon it, and banged on the door, cursing out loud
FU**!

ooc: might it be possibe to cast one or two spells without the staff? Or am I confused?

Mephisto 07-01-2004 03:49 PM

ooc:great, a chance to show off. I can't post for a while after this.

ic: Sedran woke up to find himself in the same situation as samuel. He checked for his knives, they were still there the fools never expect a mage to be able to fight, that includes other mages, that was a great help in the tournement. He started to cut through the ropes with his knives, it took about ten minutes but he eventualy got free.
now how to get out of this room? Right, no magic, time to use some intelect.
Sedran let out a scream of pain and stood next to the door. When a guard opened the door Sedran drove one of his curved blades deep into his neck, threw him into the room and steped out of the door. Outside two more guards attacked him, Sedran parried a blow from the first and stabed him in the stomach, he then spun and blocked another two blows from the second guard and slashed him from his chest to his throat. Look ing around he saw he was in a long corridor, the ends fading into the darkness. Sedran started to walk down it with a slight swing in his walk.

Risu woke up groggily. He was in chains, in a small cell, with two armed guards standing at attention.

He had no weapons, no idea where he was, and was still a bit tired. Not what he had thought of earlier when he'd woken up.

"HEY! You, guard on the left. Aren't you that guy I saw a hooker blow off. Wait, I shouldn't be using blow should I?"

The guard ignored the chained man. Risu sighed. The disciplined ones were always the hardest.

"Okay, I'll stop with the insults. I'll just speak my mind. I think you are dumb, small, scrawny, wimpy, your mother is a hag, you can't get any, and your continued existance is a mockery of all life. And you're probably one of the horses' bitch as well."

The guard turned, open the cell and walked toward Risu. "You will be quiet prisoner."

"Bite me."

The guard levelled his spear, and when he jabbed, Risu let himself fall to one side, wrapping the chain on his right around it while he did it. The result was that the guard lost his grip on the spear, and the haft of the spear hit Risu in the face as he used the chain to guide it into the junction between chain and wall.

He kicked the man in the crotch, then brought his leg above the man's head and crashed it down on the back of his skull. Using the spear as leverage, he put his head in front of it, and pushed his head back.

The spear popped his chain free. The second guard got in right when that happened. Risu smashed the chain across his face. He glanced at his leg arm, and used the spear again in a similar fashion.

Free, with the cell door open, he got a better grip on the chains and stepped out of his cell. There was on guard in his way. Risu whacked him across the face with a chain, then pushed using the momentum from the hit to spin the guard around.

Then he strangled him with a chain. Content with his escape so far, Risu walked down the hall, looking for his gear and the others.

(OOC: No magic without your staff. But they aren't exactly the smartest people around. Your staff should be nearby. Maybe even in the same hall. You get yourself out, you should get your staff back.)

Samuel stretched his arms. He had managed to slice off his bonds with his sword. The rope pieces lay on the floor.

He swung the sword around in his hands to get the feel of it. He was certainly not a master swordsman, but he got the job done.

"You should not have pissed me off, buddies."

He raised his foot, and kicked on the door. It was a simple lock. It broke and flew open. It almost disgusted him how much the villagers underestimated the group. There were two guards in the hall. One of them lunged forward with his sword. Samuel parried, and thrusted his blade through the guard's heart. The man fell down. The other man stepped away. He wasn't much of a fighter. Samuel sighed in disgust, and then located his staff. It was leaning against the wall in the hallway. He picked it up, and clenched it in his hands.

He heard footsteps from behind him. He twirled about, and knocked the second guard in the head with the crystal on his staff.

"Fool."

Jace woke up feeling like he had been wacked over the head with a log. His surroundings were different than he thought they were, however. Instead of a bar or room, he was in a dark and kind of cramped cell. Either I'm dreaming or this is one serious hangover, he thought, thinking he had drunk himslef to sleep.

When he couldn't find his staff, he checked for his knives. They were still there, oddly enough. He began thinking and was formulating a plan while he cut away at the ropes on his hands. Once the ropes were cut, he began setting his plan in motion.

Walking up to the door, he began hitting it. Eventually the guard became irritated and walked over to the window on the door. When he was done shouting at Jace, who was right next to the window, he turned around. Jace then reached out and covered the guard's mouth and put his knife to his throat. The guard let out a muffled whimper that only showed he was scared more than he had ever been.

"Open the door and I'll let you live," Jace said threateningly, cutting the man's neck a bit to get his attention. He reached down to his belt and put his key in the keyhole with a shakey hand. Once the door was opened, Jace released his prisoner. Before the gaurd could shout out that someone was escaping, Jace knocked him out and slowly lowered him to the floor.

"Now where would everyone else be," he whispered to himself. Noticing his staff leaning against the wall, he grabbed it and cautiously began going out to help everyone else.

Zak awoke to the light of a new day(entering through the skylight over the bed, magically displaying the sky over the hotel, although no skylight actually existed on the roof of the hotel). After getting dressed and eating a hearty meal, Zak gathered his personal belongings, picked up his staff, and walked out of the closet, which resumed to be an actual closet afterwards. Something seemed amiss, as one of the peddler's maps was barely visible from under the bed, and he seemed very attached to his maps. The beds were messed up, and there was no sign of the mages. Zak bent down and picked up the map, and sees that it is a map of the town. After studying it for a little while with his reading glasses, he notices that the animals left outside, except his invisible horse, are all missing. Zak carefully exits the room, and peeks down the hallway. Seeing no one, Zak goes across to the girls rooms, and enters. Same as before, the room is strangely empty, and the sheets are on the floor, as though the person sleeping in the bed was dragged out of it without a fight. After ten minutes, he had checked all of the rooms, and come to the conclusion that someone had kidnapped them. As he looked out of the window of the last room, he saw Solomon leaving a building he had thought was town hall, and then entering his residence. Zak looked around the room, and found a rope in the closet, probably the carrier's, and tied it to one of the bedposts. Zak tore two pieces of cloth from the arms of his robes. After making sure that no one would see him, he jumped out of the window with the rope in hand, slowing his decent with his feet and hands. He landed in a trough filled with water, so he cooled his hands in that. All of the townspeople seemed to be inside their homes preparing for the day, or working out in the fields.
Ducking under windows, and avoiding doors altogether, Zak made his way to the building Solomon exited from. Glancing inside Zak saw two guards, guarding a door to a back chamber. Zak concentrated on his crystal and used the second spell he had ever made. Like the first, this one ripped all the bones of the victim out of its body, but unlike the first, it didn't incinerate them, it animated them. As he was finishing up his spell from the doorway, the guards noticed him. They recognized that he was one of the mages from out of town and charged, but by the time they got to him, one was only bones, and completely under Zak's control. "Don't take another step, or I'll do the same to you as I did to him." The second guard stopped on a dime, and Zak halted the skeleton. "Now, be a good little boy, and tell me where the others are."
"They're being held in an underground prison, far below this building."
"Am I to assume that the door you were guarding leads to there?"
"...yes." The guard hung his head in shame.
"Don't be ashamed, you were trying to protect your village, I just wanted a pet...heh. Now stay here, and guard the door, and if Solomon returns, tell him the your buddy is taking a pee break."
The guard bowed.
Zak and the skeleton walked into the back room, and began to search for the entrance.

Kali_the Black_Mage 07-01-2004 04:28 PM

Kali woke and relized where she was."This is just great" she said sarcasticaly, then she saw her staff leaning on the far side of the room and also saw that her bat was caged up. "Don't worry Cerebrus, we'll get out of here somehow, I mean, how smart can these guards be" Kali said with a smirk.
She then came up with an idea, "Psst, hey you over there! If you come here i'll tell you a secret". The guard came closer "What is it?" "THIS!" Kali grabbed the guards head and banged it on the iron bars, once the guard was unconsience, Kali grabbed the prison keys. "Sucker!" she then uncaged her familar and grabbed her staff. "Now to find the others"

"Uhh..." Lorelei groaned as she awoke. "What the-?" She noticed being in an unfamiliar room and her arms being tied behind her. Instead of jumping to her feet and demanding to be let free, she started to debate what to do. "There's no way they'll be able to keep all of us captured like this.." she mused to herself, but there was no way she was just going to sit there and count on the others to get out themselves.

Remembering she had her knife, she tried to reach around and grab it, a difficult task considering that her arms were tied behind her and her knife was in the front of her cloak. But she managed to retrieve it. After sawing out of her ropes she stood up and rubbed her wrists. Then she walked to the door and looked out the window. One male guard, they obviously didn't expect much from her. Unfortunately, her one idea of successful escape consisted of flirting with the guard. The idea was not appealing to her in any way, shape, or form, nor had she very much experience with flirting. She would rather steal the man's soul, but her staff was across the hallway.

Putting her hands behind her back again, she pretended to be more helpless than she was, "Why am I in here?" she asked, trying to sound innocent, but there was still a hint of Lorelei's normal harshness in her voice.

"Don't play innocent with me, Dark Mage." The guard said, glancing at Lorelei for a moment, she had her blue eyes fixated on him, in her most innocent look she could muster.

"Alright," She said, losing the innocent look, but trying not to look as cold as she usually does, "But I'm not really with these incompitent failures." she went on to lie about how she is actually on Sarions side and is with this group to ruin their plans, "Think about it... why would a Dark Mage be against Sarion?" She concluded, "If you just let me out, there's no problem. You still have your 'heroes' that Sarion wanted you to stop." She must have been a convincing liar, since the guard seemed to be thinking about weither or not to let her go. He seemed to believe her, but there was still the whole duty of guarding the prisoners he had to do. "Plus...." She said, using her ace-up-the-sleeve, "...There might be something in it for you as well..." She almost smirked, men with weak-wills always fell for this one, and this guard was no exception. <Fool. The only thing he will be recieving is release from his pitiful life.>

The guard, having made up his mind, started unlocking the door and said something about keeping quiet so the others wouldn't know. As soon as she was out the door, she stepped close to the bad-smelling man. He took it as a sign of affection... that is... until he felt a sharp pain in his stomach. She had brought her hand around, weilding a knife, and stabbed him in the gut. He recoiled back, suprised and reeling in pain, but before he could do anything, Lorelei slit his throat. After the man was dead, she walked over and grabbed her staff. "That's why I like my staff, so much cleaner to steal souls than to cut throats," she mused while wiping off some of his blood that had gotten on her.

"I guess I'd better find the others," Lorelei said, making her way down the corridor.
