Well, that's true. Touchè.

Krylo 07-01-2004 01:49 AM

If she's going to be into pretty boys, and I'm going to be one... I say give her back the whip.

IHateMakingNames 07-01-2004 01:51 AM

No whip...

So, let's do Jad since he's gone now.

Name: Meth

Celes and I are thinking of Jad's avatar

And Krylo: I'm sure I can steal one....

If you don't know how to use a whip, it's just going to be painful, not pleasurable.

Heiseki 07-01-2004 02:16 AM

He doesn't have to be an avatar, does he? Celes wants more of a physical fighter.

And just because I don't have a whip doesn't mean I can't use one. And who said pain isn't good?

And nobody else is touchin' the whip of authority.... Your plain, generic whip is alright though. ^^

No one, but there's good pain, then there is bad pain. Good pain is directed in the right area (Mainly the back), and rhythmic. Bad pain is just you randomly hitting the guy as hard as you can. People tend to like the former more.

He should be an avatar. I just remember he wanted to be avatar of the Coyote (Though I want that...), which means he would be a trickster. I don't see Jad as a trickster though...

I'll keep that in mind. And you would know this because...?
I wouldn't hit a guy if he didn't deserve it, good or bad. I'm all about the consequences.

And I think we have the avatar: Puma.

Which means what? What does the Puma guide do, and how is the Avatar affected?

Nope. It's Panther now.
As to what it does, I'd have to say it makes fun of the Coyote, and stalks in the night.
So, thee avatar would be like a Paladin of the night or a Dark PAladin, depending on how you like it to sound.

Krylo 07-01-2004 02:38 AM

Just one little note... if she didn't know how to use a whip and tried to hit someone with it, there wouldn't be a lot of pain either way. Whips aren't strength weapons, they're finesse weapons. ...They're like heavier wet towels. Hit someone with the side of the towel and it just bends around them, no harm. Snap them with the end and you can leave welts. Whips work on the same principle. You snap with the end, not with the length.

...and now I'm going to bed too.

... For one, I'm pretty sure that Raven is the enemy of Coyote. And that does not say what it does to the avatar. Can he see in the dark? Camouflage? Something else?

Heiseki 07-01-2004 02:46 AM

Ok, BASIC bio (Celes is swamped and I have to get up in two hours O_O)
Name: Meth
Age: (Either 24, or 87)
Gender: Male
"Class": Avatar of Raven
Appearance: ?
Weapons: Staff
Equipment: ?
Quote: ?
Bio: His parents were extremely overbearing and tried to force him to become the avatar of the coyote. After failing miserably, his parents disown him, and he spends a couple of years as a rogue. The nhe decides he wants to be an avatar of something, and the Raven pops in and says "Yo." So he is now the Paladin of the Night or whatever. The Raven also thinks the Coyote is a pansy. Shaping shifting abilities have been bestowed to the lucky Avatar, mostly a *shock* Raven. (We'll just let him pick a few more, ne?)
Personality: Since guide hates Coyote, Meth has a hatred for the Coyote as well, not to mention his parents forced him to try and be the avatar for the Coyote. Normally gets along with others well, minus Coyotes.

And I appreciated the help.

IHateMakingNames 07-01-2004 02:55 AM

Raven is a shape shifter, not a creature of the dark... And he's mean.

Edit - Coyote is based on the Native American Legends. If you want to make a counter to him, you need to keep it from the same legends. Puma is not a normal Native Legends creature (A cougar is, but it's not anything near what you want).

Edit 2 - And even if you try to base it off just the animal, not the Native legend, a Raven isn't a night creature.

I believe I said she woud fix this? But I will. I guess. *erases and scribbles some more*

Well, this is probably the end of character creations till SS gets back.

Everyone but Jad, me, Dante, and Wolf got done (And maybe other people who got invited but I did not know).

Currently Jad is being worked on, and the only ideas for him are from the two girls, who want to make him a hater of Coyote (The thing Jad wanted) for some reason.

Didn't you want to be the coyote too? And you siad you couldn't invision him being a trickster....but whatever.....

I'm going now.

I like the idea of tricksters, but then I later realized I would just be the avatar of a trickster, meaning that my tricks would suck as compared to what I would want to be able to do. I'd take it, but I can easily leave it.

Also, are you trying to repeat Preditions?

I can't see Celes as a captain either, but she is one any way.

CelesJessa 07-01-2004 03:57 AM

Alright, here's the (hopefully) finished product.

Name: Meth
Age: 24
Gender: Male
"Class": Avatar of Raven
Appearance: Dark hair, dressed in dark clothing. He wears a long coat with long sleeves. At a touch, the coat almost felt feathery.
Weapons: a black staff
Equipment: none
Quote: "Wise men talk because they have something to say; fools talk because they have to say something."
Bio: Meth had always been different from the beginning. Where the other children favored games, he would sit by the sidelines and read his books, and watch the countryside. His parents were disappointed that their son was so "useless", and constantly compared him to his brother, the boy destined to inherit the totem of the Coyote. His brother was a cunning trickster, constantly playing pranks on Meth, and as they eyars went by, their rivalry intensified into a deep, festering feud.
One day, while Meth was sleeping, he heard a voice call to him. The voice told Meth that his foresight and his talents had not gone unnoticed, and he would be the one to ebar the mark of the raven, the bird of wisdom.. When he awoke, he found a strange tattoo in the pattern of black, feathered wings on his back, and he immediately knew that that had not been any ordinary dream.
Personality: Fairly quiet, especially when he is absorbed in his books, but if trouble comes, while not being the most powerful, he is not afraid to back down at any cost. Stemming from his childhood, he is not fond of tricksters or pranks of any kind, and will make his distaste for them very obvious.

And since appearantly the Raven is a shapeshifter, I'll wait for SS to put down the specifics of what he can and can't shift into.

There, does that look good?

IHateMakingNames 07-01-2004 03:59 AM

Raven is a trickster as well... I probably should have mentioned that before.

Edit - Here is a little thing from a site about what the Raven is a symbol for.

Quote:

Trickster, teacher, hoarder. To Pacific Northwest Coast tribes, Raven represented the shaman's powers and a belief in transformation between human and animal spirits. Raven symbolizes change in conciousness and is the mark of a shape shifter.

Alright.... Back to the drawing board then...
How much of tricksters are they? Moreso or less than the Coyote.

Edit: alright, your information helps a lot. Thank you.

IHateMakingNames 07-01-2004 04:13 AM

Here's the thing on a Coyote.

Quote:

Prankster, insight, playful. The coyote symbolizes duality and the ability to present both sides of an issue. Clowning and humor, perhaps sarcastic.

Dante 07-01-2004 04:51 AM

I'm posting this on the behalf of Jess because she's tired.

Name: Meth
Age: 24
Gender: Male
"Class": Avatar of Raven
Appearance: Dark hair, dressed in dark clothing. He wears a long coat with long sleeves. At a touch, the coat almost felt feathery.
Weapons: a black staff
Equipment: none
Quote: "Wise men talk because they have something to say; fools talk because they have to say something."
Bio: From a young age, Meth and his brother knew that they were destined to bear the mark of the avatars of Raven and Coyote. They were a resourceful and cunning pair, often outwitting bullies with wit and skill, and surprising even the village elder with their intelligence. They were the best of friends, and it seemed as though their lives would only be completed when they received the Mark.

One night, the voice of the Raven spoke to Meth. It told him that he would be the heir to his powers... but that his brother would try to trick him out of it. Meth of course dismissed this out of hand, but part of him wondered if the god was speaking the truth. The doubt festered in the depths of his mind, growing like a sick cancer in his ysche. When next Raven met Coyote, the relations were more strained than before. Each was wary of the other, and worse still, each was aware of the other's apprehension. Both were master tricksters, but where Coyote saw all sides of the issue, Raven read deeply into his brother's actions, and came to the conclusion that Coyote was false.

Without allowing Coyote to explain, Meth denounced his brother as a liar. The latter, shocked by this sudden outburst, and also suffering from the same doubt that Coyote has planted in his mind, took it badly, as his ability to empathize failed him in the wake of this accusation. Both swore never again to speak to the other for as long as they lived, before departing amidst the tatters of a lifelong friendship.

It has been five years since they parted company, five long years to think, to plan... and to hate. They will meet again soon, such is the nature of their twisted fate... and this time, there will be a reckoning.

Personality: Fairly quiet, especially when he is absorbed in his books, but if trouble comes, while not being the most powerful, he is not afraid to back down at any cost.

Wolf99x 07-01-2004 08:49 AM

I finally got around to submitting the world name to SS.

*sharpens knife*

Yeah, maybe. But then again, we never asked. We just assumed the wrong things.

Raiden 07-01-2004 09:25 AM

I like my character. Street samurai. I'm happy.

Except for Dante and a few others. Would you mind coming over here please?

*the others are dragged into a room, and there is much screaming of pain. Dante keeps yelling about how his leg should not bend that way. When the door opens, blood pours out.*

I feel better now.

Forever Zero 07-01-2004 09:49 AM

So basically I'm playing Coop, and I'm piloting a Mini-Megas XLR... Hell yeah, this RP is going to rock!

Raiden 07-01-2004 09:50 AM

I'm a street samurai in a trench coat and a cybernetic eye!

I'm like a mix of Vicious and Spike from Cowboy Bebop. I kick ass!

Darth SS 07-01-2004 02:36 PM

*ahem.*

My few comments/changes/suggestions.

Me- Maybe my arm is to parry blades? *hint hint*

FZ- ...I can't say anything. This is too perfect.

Raiden- Maybe give him two katanas. Just because it's cooler.'

Celes- Royalty. She needs to be royalty to do that role.

Krylo- He should have a rapier. And be prone to break out into dance.

Heiseki- Nothing to say here.

Jad- I can almost picture him as a coyote actually. Mostly because he does it so damn well in Cyber Wars.
