New RP...

I have recently become interested in a interactive RP idea, that is to say I will control the events that occur; you will tell me your actions, I will tell you the consequences. If you desire a further explanation of any of the options I am willing to explore, please don't hesitate to say so.

...sorry, I just had to vote.

I'd prefer a little more feedback perhaps before commiting myself to one or another.

I say you should do one based on World Domination. Mostly because it means I could play as an Evil Overlord in it. But the other reason is that there are hundreds of different ways it can be done. And I would never suggest a WWII RP, please never do one.

Also you could get more responses if you explain them better.

Alright. I suppose explanations are in order.

WWII - PCs would be part of an infantry and/or armored unit, depending on preference. There would probably be an Atlantic & a Pacific campaign, and the rules would be relatively loose and flexible, so the PCs could do as they liked.

MMBN - It would be based on the games, but with a bit of the show blended in. I had a system of combat in mind, but I'm not sure if everyone is into the numbers and statistics it would require. PCs would consist of an operator and his/her Navi, and all Navis would be custom created. My dilemma here is to follow my original thought and make it like a true console RPG, with stats, etc. yet still combining the role=playing element, or to let characters narrarate their battles.

Mercenary Group - PCs would be part of an elite mercenary group designed to do anything for the highest paying customer. Missions might included assassination, kidnapping, extortion, etc. Very loose in what you can do.

World Domination - PCs would either be of the same alliance or various ones, and each one makes attempts to take over the world, presumably as a general for their country. Of course, I would set it in a time period so being the U.S.A. or another large, powerful nation is not a overwhelming advantage. I intended to take nuclear weapons out of the picture, forcing long, yet more interesting ground campaign. Treaties and the like could be arranged between players. I also intended for each nation to have an intelligence network and anything that two conspiring characters wanted to be kept secret could be done via PM. Much to play with.

Battle School - I was intending to base this off the Ender's Game novel, if youi haven't read it you should. Basically all characters are geniuses, age 5-12, and at age 5 they are sent from Earth, which now is one united nation, to Battle School where they learn combat tactics and strategy. Battle School sits in the middle of the Asteroid Belt. The main teaching method is a game in which sections of the school are pitted against one another in what is effectively, ground combat in 0 (hereafter referred to as null) gravity. I believe this one has a vast amount of potential, especially were any of you to read the book.

Genetic Experiments - Each PC is a genetically enhanced human, or is some cases an enitrely new species that is effectively identical to humans on a genetic level. Characters would be relatively human, so no tentacles, or the like, but certain extreme deformities, say a 3rd eye, or a tail, would be feasible. Super intelligence and athletic prowess is the most common. Physical aspects can also be altered, so extremes could potentially be commonplace, 8' and 200 pounds of solid muscle could be a genetic trait. Other extremes might require a certain drawback as well. The plot could be perhaps to seek out your creator, or perhaps something mutually agreed upon by the players.

Also, those who picked 'Other,' if you could list your preference or idea, please.

Like I said, please do not do a WWII one.

Stats and all that, doesn't usually work, unless you gave us the formulas to figure out how it all worked and then you would have to find people willing to do them.

The Mercenary one would be a nice simple one to get started out on considering you only have 15 posts. Plus I like making characters who are rather mercenary like.

World Domination would be very complex the way you have it and could have a lot of godmodding, keyword could.

BattleSchools, love the base for it. I've read the book as I expect most people have who are over 16. But it could get a little repitetive (Sp?)

Genetic Experiments would be interesting, though things like this have been done before, I've seen three RPs similar to this at the moment. One of which is mine.

Other, well if I had an idea I would host it so no dice.

I can give more reasons for my personal favorites, which are now Mercenary Group and Wold Domination, if need be.

Hmmm I once played a G.E. game and one of my favorite characters that I use is from this campaign. It was kind of a spur of the moment thing "What would a Sephiroth look a like crossed with silent bob and riddick be like?" In this spirit I will vote for you GE game

Zorshnal 07-01-2004 09:29 PM

The answer to that question is one amusing and interesting character.

TheSpiritOfVengance 07-01-2004 09:43 PM

Hey All RPers have a character thats there favorite. Zatara Masamune is mine. though I rarely get to use him.

Zorshnal 07-01-2004 09:44 PM

Wasn't saying it was stupid, I like the idea.

My personal favorite character would be too god-moddy for most RPs.
