Halo 2 and Fable
What two games are almost, if not, all X-Box owners are waiting the release of? Easy answer, Halo 2 and Fable. We have a set release date for Halo 2....not so much for Fable. Everyone think back to last Christmas when you were thinking,"Oh, Halo 2 is supposed to be coming out soon." and then had your dreams crushed. Yes, I'm still a bit ticked about that, but I would rather wait for a perfect version of Halo 2 then a crappy one. The same goes for Fable. Fable has been in development for several years now, and it was supposed to be released earlier but they decided to hold off and make everything better. Once again I was ticked but I understood. Now Fable is supposed to be released in September (which means JUST in time to take my attention from school) and Halo in November (which means JUST in time to crush all dreams I had of scoring well on my finals). Now I have one question to you all, who ISN'T waiting the release of these two games? *grabs a 20 caliber pitchfork in case anyone says they aren't anxiously awaiting the arrival of these games*

I am awaiting the mac release of Halo 2. So I have longer to wait. Because I hate Bill Gates therefore have a prejudice against the X-Box.
|
Yet your awaiting Halo 2 so your still cool....I don't personally like Gates myself, but I can't stand MAC so I went with the lesser of two evils.

Halo 2, the one game I've been waiting for for over a year. I preordered the thing last August, but still the waiting persists. If Bungie screws this game up, I swear I'm going to go on a homicidal rampage.
|
I'd be right with you on that homicidal rampage, but it would have to be a psychotic homicidal rampage...In fact, I think EVERY halo fan would....which is a lot...so it would be bungie vs millions of fans....they'd put it on pay per view! Never invoke the wrath of fan boys (and girls). Anyway, it still seems I'll have no use for this *holds up 20 cal. pitchfork* oh well

I seem to be the only one not excited about Halo 2. I'll probably get it, but Fable is the real game that seems to catch my eye. Morrowind made me sit on the couch for weeks playing the XBox, and Fable seems like Morrowind on Crack on the terms of open-endedness. And it's headed by Peter Moloneux, who is pretty good at details and terms of making things fat/skinny on how much they eat. The only problem is, he's doing about 3-4 games right now, including Fable, thus pushing the release dates -_-'. Yeah. But Halo 2 has swords, and I can use them, so I think I'll buy it.

I don't even have an X-box and I'm looking forward to Fable and Halo 2. I just like seeing good games be released and the gameing world become a better place. If I did have an X-box, then my anticipation would be doubled.

I don't believe that Fable will be like Morrowind on crack. The game is taking a different tack. More like Gothic on crack. For one thing it will have a strong story that's broken into chapters. That means that while the game may allow some exploration and side quests, it's not going to be open like MW. Instead, the real power of [i]Fable/i] will lie in its use of dynamic AI. So expect much better and more dynamic NPCs and a somewhat more 'living' world, but at the same time a more linear story and game progression.
As for Halo 2, it should be good. Bungie with more time and resource to create the sequel to an already great game? And it should be even more tailored for the console. Making the game for a single style, console or PC, from the ground up makes it better or at least less compromised. With any luck Bungie will tailor this one for the Xbox even better than Halo was. |
I stand corrected. Then again, you choose whether you're evil or good, and the world will be shaped around your actions. If I remember correctly, if you DON'T pursue the main quest, and instead you married, had children, and so forth, they kill off your new found family in order to push you along. I think this was a 2001/2002 interview, so it could've changed, and it proves Priest's point of it being linear.
And talking about release dates, I just checked 1up.com and Fable has been pushed back to January. I hope it's just a bug on the site, but if that's true, it looks like I'll be getting Halo 2 for sure now. |
Fable and Doom III. Halo 2 doesnt really excite me on the level that those two games do, and I cant wait for Resident Evil 4.
Halo 2 is kinda the last thing on my mind. Yes, Ill tell you that the demo from E3 blew me away, but damn, Resident Evil 4's demo kicked ass and that alone made me want to buy the game immediately. So I guess you could say Im excited about it, but not like obsessed in that Im going to get a shotgun and blow up my local gamestop just because its delayed again. |
