Mages of Marakta- Ch.4 "The Artifact"
"How much for a package of Cockatrice meat?"
"For you sir...4 gold pieces." "Thank you." Samuel walked out of the store with his lunch in hand. They had been in the town for two days now, and still no sign of the man with the artifact. They had managed to find themselves rooms at the inn. They had been staying there, but the inn keeper didn't really like them that much. It was something about scaring away customers. They all had split up into groups to try and find the man. It was a lot harder than expected. Kenyu's maps were of no help because unless he had met the man before, he couldn't find them on his maps. Dire keeps almost finding him, but everytime he almost catches him, the man manages to find a source of water and crosses it at a different point. And since scent and tracks don't stay in water, it kills the hunt. It didn't help that it was a very large town. There were many shops, restaurants, libraries, inns, and the like. Which made finding someone even harder. Samuel opened the package of meat and took a bite. He hoped that everyone else was having better luck than he was. |
" You know boss man, I could keep a watch out for the moron twins if that helps you?"
|
Jude passed by and snickered while muttering something under his breath that sounded vaguely like "Hey, he has a use."
|
Samuel looked at Ken.
"Do that. If they come close, give me a heads up." |
Sedran was with Dire, it was part of a new plan to find the artifact man, Dire followed the scent and Sedran walked over the rooftops, using wind to cross any large gaps, to try and see the man if he crossed a source of water, however, so far they were having no luck, the man seemed to know the town well, he always found a spot where Dire lost the scent and Sedran could not cross over the rooftops.

Zak was off by himself...well, if by yourself means hitting on rich merchant's daughters and avoiding the other mages until the artifact man was willing to let himself be found. He was having no luck with this current chick, and she kept trying to kill him when he came to start up conversations...so he decided it was time to move on. Zak went to the next merchant's house, and knocked on the door. A man about three times as wide as his height answered the door. "...sorry, I must have the wrong house..."

OOC: Meph, if by 'with Dire' you mean 'followed Dire as he tracked, which Dire did not agree too', then ok. If you mean they were working together, then no.
IC: Dire was out hunting for deer, since Loki was getting hungry, as well as Fenris. Dire was annoyed by the amount of bodies of water that were in this area, and more annoyed that the rest of the mages were useless in the search for the artifact carrier. |
Inside the big man's house, he was drinking tea, and having the most unusual of conversations with such a corpulant man. Apparently, the big man was afraid of most mages and had them killed at the door(it was enchanted to tell what school the mage was from, and hit them with spells from the opposite on a command), but as a Zak was a Creator, he let him be.
|
ooc: I wonder what would happen if I entered? I have no school.
Kenyu was blinking his eyes. They hurt from looking trough his magnifying crystal. He had found the moron twins as he said. "Waitress bring me a coffee and a whisky." |
Risu was asking basically random people if they knew about the guy they were after. Quite a few of them either a) Screamed and ran (He still hadn't figured that part out) or b) Stood up, took a swig of some form of alchohol, and tried to fight him.
With knuckles that were starting to hurt, and a cheek-bone that was a bit sore from a good punch he'd taken, he walked into the store where Kenyu was. Then sat beside him, ordering water. "I'm ready to give up. How's your thing goin'?" |
