Let's Rant about flaws in games.

The one thats getting to me right now is with Morrowind. If you get one freaking spec of dust on the disk it becomes unuseable. It runs just long enough to give you hope then gives you that damn error screen. I now have two worthless Morrowind, for the XBox btw, disks. I guess I'm going to have just play the computer version I have.

Man my morrowind got scratches all over it before it died. My brrothers have a thing about setting games ontop of the system instead of putting them up when they take them out of their cases.

As for flaws in videogames. I have the uncanny ability to fly off the track in SSX tricky and get stuck floating in nothingness until I reset of course then I'm out of time or losing the race badly.

Atronflame 07-11-2004 10:13 PM

I doubt its the disks fault. Ive been having 80000 billion problems with my Halo disk. It says theres dust or scracthes on it - when Ive cleaned it like 20 times.

Also...

My problem with Morrowind is the AI. The people follow you around like idiots... you spend more time worrying about them following you into the next room than dealing with the enemies.

I cant really think of too many flaws in my video games as of late... MMORPGs take too damn long to level up in. Most FPS games are too easy / short.

CANT FIND MY NWN INSTALL DISK #1. *PISSED* :(

This is a game few may know. It's call Aidyn Chronicles: The First Mage. Basically it looks like they half finished the game and then decided to sell it. There are items who's use isn't coded into the game yet. Places where you fall through the world. Buildings that aren't totaly finished and places where you can get caught in infinte loops if your not careful. The storyline and what not was great and the game was pretty hard, which is good, but the rest of the stuff really hurt the game over all.

For more info on Aidyn Chronicles, check out the hillarity that is FF DOG GAIDEN 1:

Well, there's that flaw in FFVIII where they, y'know, made the game.

::rimshot::

That aside, it always drives me nuts when they stick puzzles into games for no particular reason, based entirely on some arbitrary game mechanic. For example, in Breath of Fire III they had this deal where you could rotate the camera about 1/4 turn, so at about a dozen different points in the game you end up pissing away an hour wondering what the hell you're supposed to do next before you realize you need to turn the camera angle at one completely arbitrary point on the map to find some random item you need to advance.

Fifthfiend: Nice.

Also... about unfinished games. Theres a game called "Sacred" which comes close to being an average Diablo clone. It uses its combat system well, and I like how you can see everything's health in a little ring bar around them.

The problem is that the developers forgot to put in the text for about half the characters. It literally says "Text missing". Honestly... I dont get it. Most game premises are alright at best, and stories are starting to get less and less original. Now unfinished games? I thought FF7 was bad, but DAYUM.

Comment on Morrowind: It's not really your disk, but your driver. Go to the gamfaqs forum to read and bitch all about it.

I think the worse freakin flaw was in.....ah crap! What the hell was it called ....poop. Well, I'll probably remember and edit it in later. Anyway, at some point if you "chose" the wrong order of dialouge during a cut scene you were stuck having the person asking you the same damn question over and over again. What sucked was that the scene was just after a REALLY freakin long fight and you had no time to save between the fight and the cut scene. I dunno, I think that's a pretty shistey way to repay the gamer who just spent the past hour fighting some sort of god.

Another error occured in my FFX game, yeah I know but its the only FF I've been able to play money issues and all. It seems my cut scenes have stopped working. When ever I try to head to a cut scene it freezes and I get this weird clicking sound.
