I'm so sorry guys, I've been caught up with "fun" all weekend. I was going to make up an excuse as to why I haven't posted despite my promise, but I don't want to BS anyone, I've just been watching movies and hanging out in downtown San Diego (anyone know about the Gas Lamp District?) I'm going to reply right now to your posts, and try my damndest to give some more history, I'm posting this preface right now and am in the process of editing in the information. I really appreciate the fact that everyone wasn't screaming for my blood even though I really let you guys down, thanks alot! :)


out of necessity ( I'm going to go see John Mayer and Maroon 5 in about 2 hours, in concert. ) I wil keep my replies as concise and short as I can muster, just so you know.

Jaguar: sorry deadly dude, no mas persones por favor, I'm not accepting any more character applications, again, sorry.

Zweihander: great character! a few minor things I'd like to note.

Cybernetic arm: garners Zoamelgustar seal of approval, as far as balance between your cyber arm and nexgen arm, the cyber arm is constantly super strong, while your normal one can only maintain super strength for relatively short periods of concentration, using your MFD it can be constantly stronger, but not too an incredible degree, you see the MFD only allows you to access your powers quicker, and to maintain activation of some simpler ones without concentation, it still derives its power form your brain, and nexgen powers will eventually run you dry, resulting in unconsciousness, paralysis, brain hemmoraging, even death if pushed too far. This goes for everyone, I'm going to slap together some rules for categorizing powers at the end of this.

as far as the tacsuit goes, you hit the nail on the head, samus aran/ halo appearance and operation are pretty much what I'm talking about, and modualr equipment was what I would use too, by "built in" weaponry I meant such things as increased strength, and laser blaster type things, all special purpose weaponry would be modular, and hands are a definite must. Your character is a nexgen assault officer, assigned to a tac-suit squad as apposed to normal infantry, his men are normal humans with the same suits. As far as powers go, any sort of military type powers would work, and your suggestions are good. He would most likely not possess any sort of overt destructive capabilities however, if he did he would probably not use a tac-suit. So hadokens and miniature nuclear explosions are definitely out of the picture, but any sort of reactionary or precognitive powers would work. The equipment list is a good run down, of course you would not deploy with all of these weapons equipped at once, armament would depend on the mission. I'll get back to the tac-suit later, very good ideas!

a small note about the MFD, it is actually a system of nanobots installed directly in the brain, so putting it in the cyber arm doesn't work, but computer interfaces and such would be OK, and the suit interface jack is right on the money, it seems you do possess precognitive abilities...

Sithdarth: Good character, as far as "ghost" go's, perhaps thats the code name for your operation specialty, you would still be considered a military analyst as far as the company is concerned, your assignments are very unique however, falling under special operations department as opposed to strategy. your personnel on permanent loan between divisions so to speak.

your gadgets are great! the zero point generator is a bit over the top though, even if it is theoretically possible in real life, I see too much potential for abuse, and after reading the link I have a question, isn't 200 amps a bit much? lol, sorry, I'm an electronics technician, I don't think anyone is going to find that humorous but me. Maybe as an alternative you could use a device which stores up kinetic energy and converts it into electricity, seeing as your character is all about speed, he could recharge it in no time, and use the power to charge up his other gadgets.

As far as being faster than other nexgens all the time, not possible, your character may be slightly faster than the fastest humans unnassisted, but in order to achieve truly mind blowing speeds, he will have to expend some nex gen power, at which point he will be faster than any other nexgen.

and as for the energy barrier, I'm going to say its an external device and not a surgically implanted one, no reason for any of that.

bm girl: I only listed 3 initial companies, but there are many more, with their own unique historiies and specialities, I'll list them as soon as I can, and maybe at a later date I'll run an RP which makes them all playable, but for now its just the main three.

and keep working on your powers, good ideas so far, just try and get a little more specifics, and I'm really happy we worked out your character, your intitial concept was great, and I'm glad you like the way I went with it. :)

Ranger A: Very in depth power explanation, very good! Let me see if I can come up with some ideas of electricity manipulation, obviously a change in oscillation frequency would be right up your alley, which is a key factor in radio transmission and radar operation, if a waveforms frequency is changed it will not be discerable as data by its intended receiver unit, and will be filtered out prior to intelligence being removed form the carrier. So it fits in well with your spec war class, prior to your invasion you could take down communications with a blanket effect freq. change, thusly making all transmission devices inoperable, as far as radius of effect goes, wider=more strenuous to maintain, I'll wing it when and if it ever pops up. Good stuff yo!

Okay, Caleb Duran's non-lethal armerments and weapons.

My gun: X-Calibur Handgun

Non-lethal amo:

Shock Shot: long range taser. Rubber Bullet with a built in super stadic shock.

Shrink Wrap: fires slower than most bullets, but encases subject in a semi-permiable plastic sheet that restricts movement on contact.

Dart: a long range dart with tranquelizers

Fleshette: Fires a short range cloud of tranquelizer crystals.

Got another one. That device isn't real but its pretty close to what we could have in a few years with some work. There are some people with a patent for something that runs on a concept similar to my generator.

The shield is most definetly external and the power generators main function is keeping it going. I was thinking the shield used about 97 or so percent of the power of the generator so there isn't much left over for other things. I realized after I created the shield I'd have to power it in some way because a battery or sunlight wasn't going to work.

The quoted speed increases are almost all with his nextgen power. I was thinking about 50 mph without any assitance. As in he trained himself until he could run at about 30 mph then the company added a few nanobots to boost that to 50 mph. After that a speed double without the use of his MFD by him speeding up his local time, the time that only effects him, in relation to everything else. This would be sustainable for a few minutes max, you can determine this. Then with his MFD he can achieve short bursts of up to 400 mph that last seconds, you too can define this more. Finally, he his able to achieve body movements breaking the sound barrier, ie punches, kicks, and dodgeing by focusing on accelerating just the area that needs it.

Of course this is all up to you.

Hi everybody, just wanted to say that John Mayer rocks! I was a fan before I saw him live, not a big fan but I owned his CD's, but after seeing him live, Jesus Christ can he play some guitar! He's a hurricane, an unstoppable force of nature made manifest. or something to that nature, he is most definitely a highly skilled musician. i would encourage anyone to go see him if they ever have the opportunity. Maroon 5 needs some work on their live act, they are good, but were completely overshadowed by Mayer, definitely not as good live as on the album.

Alright, here comes some bad news, I'm going to have to put this thread on hold for about a week, I'm going underway soon, and I'm not sure if I'll have internet access while I'm floating around out there I can't give specifics, operational security and all, but I will try to post the stuff I've been promising while I'm out to sea, just bear with me please, I am definitlely not abandoning this project, just have to slow it down for a little while.

I expect to start playing sometime next week, I think it would be a good idea to set a time and date everyone can make it to, just like normal roleplaying, instead of everyone just posting when they have the time at odd hours of the day. When I start the discussion thread, something I may do tonight, this one should be closed, and used as a reference. This time will give everyone enough time to fully develop an idea of how their characters will act. I am going to start the RP off with individual sessions, short roleplay sessions which will end in a common way, leading up to everyone being brought together.

These personal sessions will serve a few purposes, they will allow me to work out game issues before I'm confronted with the group as a whole, they will let everyone get acclimated to me and the game setting, they will provide a little backstory and plot, and give everyone a solid look at how everyone else will react. I might start them all simultaneously as different threads, or just use one thread and do everyone one at a time, I don't know. in any case, any more history and rules will be posted in the Discussion thread from now on, this thread should be closed.
