Analyze that.

And what about yours?

Everybody should listen to Muse, They're like if Freddie Mercury were still around and had gotten really into Metallica and Radiohead.

They don't release albums in the US, so it's all imports, but they're floating around on the intarweb. In addition to their albums, they've got a badass cover of Can't Take My Eyes Off Of You* you can find on the Napster (or whatever the hell it is you kids use nowadays... young punks with your ITunes and your 'paying for music'... and if one of you little bastards so much as thinks the word Bittorrent I'll cane the lot of you...).

*Totally fucking serious.

Correction. Muse has released one album in the states, Absolution. Kick ass album it is, too.

Anyway, at the moment my favorite artist is They Might Be Giants. In fact, I'm listening to thier newest album, The Spine, and it's companion EP, The Spine Surfs Alone, right now. It's a return to thier older style, while still retaining the full band and full sounds of thier more recent outings. Much more consistant in sound than thier recent albums as well. Quite good. Plus, I was able to buy it in mp3 format directly from the John's themselves. They've opened up a little mp3 shop at http://www.theymightbegiants.com/, and although it's a bit risky giving the mp3s directly to the people, it's still really cool to bypass the record industry entirely and give my money to the band. I got the package deal, and hey, $13 isn't bad for that much music.

Oh, and by the way, you all can see thier newest music video too. Check out Experemental Film over at Homestar Runner ^^

Hehe... we did discuss this, but I knew it long ago. Actually, that was partly why they appealed to me so much. :D

For the Finnish impaired, Eläkeläiset means The Pensioners, and Kumikameli means Rubber Camel. Both of these bands are batshit insane in a very good way.

I've never had the 'pleasure' of listening to Kumikameli, but Eläkeläiset does rockzor!!! :D

Meister 07-15-2004 12:54 PM

Don't they? And Kumikameli have a good number of mp3s up on their website (www.kumikameli.com), so if you want to give 'em a try, head over there. It's basically punk influenced by nearly every other music style there is, which shows. Also, I hear the lyrics are rather... particular.

Actually, I recommend just getting the whole CD, The Spine. It was released just a couple of days ago, and it's thier best CD since Flood. It's great.

Simple. I don't. :) I came across the site when I googled for the band name, so "visit" would be saying a little too much... I just went to see if there was info in English, which wasn't the case, but I could just about gather the meaning of "musiikia" (MUSIC DUH), and "mp3-files" was pretty self-explanatory.

There must be something in english somewhere. But mp3 is not hard to understand...international language. And, by the way...it's musiikkia. With two K's... :D

Not to make Otaku mad or anything (GOD FORBID), but I'm going to list three bands for my favorite because these three rotate regularly. Keeping in mind I listen to a vast ammount of music and these bands are just a couple examples of the diversity I generally strive for.

Taking Back Sunday, Bright Eyes, and Eyedea and Abilities.

Highly suggest all three of them to any of you who've never heard.
