"Why looking so down?"

Again, another thread that might be treading on unsafe territory, made by me.

I'm just kind of curious to know what kind of things cause the forumers to be more vulnerable to depression. Like, in my case, not eating as much food as I should causes me to be more liable to get depressed. Don't know why, but if I don't eat as much food, things I usually just brush off tend to get me down.

Don't write anything that causes you to actually become depressed while writing your post. If that happens, just kinda back away. I don't want people to actually become depressed.

Oh, yeah, in case anyone's wondering, I came up with the idea for this thread since I haven't had enough to eat today/yesterday.

Insufficient exposure to sunlight has actually been clinically shown to be a significant contributing factor to depression.

Anyway, you should probably go eat something.

It would probably be getting an artist block when I want to draw. That gets me down... >_<;; It's so irritating when that happens.

Or when bad things happen. I guess that's pretty general for everyone... heh.

I know! When I'm in the children's oncology (did I spell that right?) department of the hospital.

That's some shit.

In a similar vein, listening to my social worker friend talk about her day is always good for a pick-me-down. Nothing like hearing about kids beaten until their bones break and babies born addicted to meth to make you lose faith in humanity.

Yeah, it's really depressing when you see these little bald, five year olds going through chemotherepy, it's not a fun thing. (well, I'm pretty sure it isn't fun no matter how old you are, but these little kids probably don't even know what's going on)

I would imagine, that's so sad. >_<

Moving (as in moving to another house) gets me depressed. And ironically, I'm moving. -_-

Whenever I think back on how fucked up my life and family are.

You know that one guy that you had in your class in Junior High? the one that always seemed to have the worst shit happen to him but seemed like a nice guy? That was me.

also, any time I think back to the year 1997. God, that was a terrible year for me.

Shiny Bunny Captain Socha 07-14-2004 11:55 AM

Hmmm...well, I am prone to clinical depression, so whenever the chemicals in my brain take a turn for the worst. :p

Yeah, I work in a juvy live-in program. The kids are monsters and I basically have to come down hard on them to make them do what they are required to, but some of them it breaks my heart. Like the on little girl who almost never gets calls from her mom, and when she does call, we can't always let her talk to her because she's so f***ded up on pills or alcohol. :(

But for the most part, I am a cheery person and I don't let things get to me. :)

Everything.

First, something small eats at me. Then other things add on. Until I finally come crashing down and it takes weeks to repair the damage the depression has caused. As my title says, I am an emotional rollercoaster.
