Sword-chucks V 1.0

I have finaly made some prototype sword chucks out of PVC pipe, foam, shoe laces, and most important of all, Duct Tape.

The hilts are 10 in long, the blades are 20 in long, and the chain is 10 in long.

They work very well and i have no problems grabing a swinging hilt without touching the blade.

Too bad i dont have a picture.

Too bad swords of that size would be far to heavy to use like that. At the very least you would have trouble generating the speed needed to use them well. Then if you did you have the problem of stopping them before the end swings around and hits you. Thats why sword-chucks should never go beyond the foam stage.

And thats why i made them with foam.

I posted this in a previous topic but a friend of mine made real ones. He hasn't used them but he has them hanging on his wall.

The blades are about 22 inches long, the handles are about another 8 inches, and the chain is 28 inches long. They are very ornate with lots of neat patterns.

He has a forge, many metal tools and LOTS of free time. His hobby is making weapons in case you were wondering.

EDIT: I'm guessing here on the dimensions.

Well I practice with "da chucks" a lot. so One day I decided to try out "Dagger chucks." This is probably the real image most of you get when you think of sword chucks. They can be used, if you practice hard (With foam blades) first. The truth is metal weighs in a lot more than foam does, as well does a real chan and other such. so you may want to put some weights in your "chucks" for practice if you intend to have some fun with some real ones. Now personally I like "Hand-Scythe-chucks" more...

I think a far better idea would be like nunchucks with spiky ends. Not as heavy, does more damage than normal chucks, etc.

Or, you could mount a blade on one side of the chuck. So you could slash and bludgeon at the same time.

I dunno... i like the idea of chuckchucks... i mean, they'd give you a disarm of like +4....

I liked my idea of Mace chucks.
