Mages of Marakta- Ch.5 "The Factory"

Samuel's stomach grumbled. He rubbed it, and put his hand back on Antonio's reigns.

They had been riding for over a week. And their food supplies had run out six days ago. There was still water to be found, so they at least couldn't die of starvation. But there wasn't much else.

The group was currently going through the Valley of the Dead. It was a vast wasteland where nothing good grew. It was full of dust and sand, and rocks littered the ground. There were a few sparse puffs of weeds that sprouted from between the rocks, but they were poisonous. Antonio neighed quietly, and continued to move. The animals were also hungry. Risu, in his hunger, had mistaken the animal feed for granola. He then ate their entire supplies of the feed. As one could guess, Risu's lizard wasn't too happy with him right now.

They wouldn't have even been in this valley if it weren't for Sarion's troops. They had begun to move out again. And as much as everyone wanted a good fight, it was both faster and safer to remain unseen.

Ooc: I recognize this! ;)

Saviorus growled as he strode by Samuel, his eyes darting from side to side as they scanned the decrepid valley.

"I don't like this one bit!" he remarked. "A valley is no place for travel at times of war, an ambush here would be a slaughter and we would be on the wrong side of it."

He shook his head as he continued. "There is nothing here. We should get Kenyu to check his maps, see if there is any shortcut out of here."

"I told you all five days ago I didn't want to go this way, that was our glorious leader's choice. Also I said we needed more food since man mountain," He pointed at Risu "Is a bottomless pit."

"There is a way to make him eat less, talk less, fight harder, follow instructions better and carry all our equipment. Fortunately, it only requires his prolonged and agonizing demise."

He paused.

"Oh my, did I say "fortunately"? I meant "unfortunately"...

(OOC: Wow, we are poor planners, we only brought a day's (maybe two) worth of food? Also, does Saam recongize this from a game/story/movie, or was it one of his ideas?)

"Oy, stop trying to pass the blame again, just find us a super secret shortcut or underground cafeteria or something, because Gods help you if we collapse into a cave and you go oops."

Dante 07-18-2004 10:15 PM

"You complain too much. Now shut up before you aggravate a conflict."

Alyrium didn't direct that remark to anyone in particular. He just found the constant cloud of noise that accompanied them annoying.

Jace was remaining silent on the matter for the most part, but he agreed with Alyrium. "He's right. This isn't exactly the best of places to stop moving just so we can argue," he pointed out.

(OOC: When did we stop? We're on hungry steeds, they'd trudge along even if we started to bicker.)

IHateMakingNames 07-18-2004 10:54 PM

OOC: Or collapse... Or eat each other... Especially the giant lizard and wolf.

BMHadoken 07-18-2004 10:57 PM

OOC; The turtle will continue to trudge along at least, as long as I keep him soaked and he can eat grass or whatever. Also, your avatar is so wrong...not to mention that hellish sig.
