Who ACTUALLY knows WHAT cancer is?

Who (besides me) knows exactly what cancer (in general) is, and what the leading cause of it is?

It's an abnormal growth or tumor and the leading cause is lung cancer from like smoke. Yup that's about it. Pretty much everything causes it though as they find a new reason everyday.

It is the malignant reproduction of cells within the human body that spreads and corrupts all cells around it until all cells are no longer living.

That or the fourth sign of the zodiac.

the tastiest zodiac of them all. mmmm, Horiscopic.

But yeah, I've lost my grandmother to cancer of the eye.

anyone else lose someone to the worlds leading cause of death?

Zorshnal 07-18-2004 11:30 PM

In my own words...the mutation of certain cells in the body that then spread. The leading cause, I'll say either cigarette smoke or overexposure to sunlight. Any particular reason as to why you ask?

you don't have cancer do you bud? God, that would just be horrible!

*shudders at the thought that this thread could have been made under those circumstances*

You could have cancer and you don't know it. I could have cancer because I'm around people who smoke. Cancer can go to any body part and make you die. I'm yet to lose someone to cancer or some other world-reknowned disease.

MP37a 07-18-2004 11:38 PM

It's the leading cause of death in just my family actually. My uncle died last summer from it. My other uncle has prostate cancer now. I lost an aunt the christmas before last. My grandfather and one of my grandmothers died of it. I lost several other aunts and uncles to it. I lost a cousin to it another cousin has it. Yup it killed off most of my family. I belong to one of my last strains of family. Mostly actually pretty much all lung cancer. That's why I'm heavily against smoking. Can't even stand to be around it. I knew a lot of other ppl not related to me that died of it also. I know at least 4 other ppl who have it now. Damn i think it's this stupid valley I live in that's doing it I seriously gotta move.
