Any GIMP users out there?
I'm just starting to add way cool effects and such into my images... but I'm having a hard time creating word bubbles, as GIMP SEEMS to have no direct shape making tools... I can make the bubble so far by stroking the path of a selection, but adding a tail to the word bubble is proving more confusing. Is there a simpler way?
Also, sphere designing is cool. |
i have gimp but i rarely use it for i suck at art and such. but i have gimp and thats the point. it has most of the things you would want from photo shop. so its ok in my book.

I aslo have Gimp, and it doesn't have anything you can use to make bubbles, which is weird. But I'm getting the hang of Gimp, but a tutorial would be nice. Do you guys know of one?

There is actually a lot if you google it, but here's a link or two
http://www.gimp.org/tutorials/ http://home.planet.nl/~dark-echo/gimp-faq/ Some are easy to understand... other's are needlessly convoluted with "wit" and verboseness |
yes tutorials are good. I havnt used one for gimp but i will as soon as im dont with this post.

Yeah I've been using GIMP ever since I switched over to Linux (It came with the OS.) Its apain in the arse to make bubbles. usually I just make a bubble and use a predefined brush to make the tail, it works but it looks like crap.
edit:I like it because I figured out how to make animated gifs with it. |

Basically I animate each element seperately then compile them into the frames how I want and add a background the hard part is choosing how long each frame stays before moving to the next one. Otherwise the animation looks choppy

actually, I did stuff like that with some gif animator.. a good one. Once you learn how to get a bunch of frames and a basic layout of what happens in each one, the timing is truly the difficult thing.
