Post Connecticon: Big Things instore for '05

It seems Brian is tired. I hope he gets plenty of rest.

But, It seems he has a year worth of story planned for 8-bit. 500 comics by then. Anyways, heres what they may be:

New Powers

Better XP

SwordChucks?

Knife Chucks?

Black Belt uses Mapquest?

Black Mage gains Telekinetic powers?

Thief learns the art of "Giving" (To him self that is)

RM comes out of the closet (LoL)

What are your guesses

Kurosen 07-19-2004 11:30 PM

Actually, the event to which I referred has nothing to do with elements of that nature. It's more... external to the comic.

Mr. Vague = I!

Omega 07-19-2004 11:31 PM

perhapse brian struck a deal with squaresoft and will publish some 8-bit books

SNAFU 07-19-2004 11:32 PM

Haven't you heard? Square-Enix has been planning on re-releasing Final Fantasy I based on Brian's characters and additions to the story for some time now. There will be new attacks like the Hadoken and Two-Fisted-Monkey-Style Attack.

darn you, I almost thought you were serious >.<

Hamelin 07-20-2004 12:22 AM

I have a few guesses, but I'll keep them to myself as I'm prolly not even close.

ScytheBoy 07-20-2004 01:49 AM

It's a book featuring Brian in a variety of revealing positions. Sexy results within.

Drooling Iguana 07-20-2004 01:55 AM

8-Bit Theater... The Musical!

Or maybe he's planning on finally fixing the spelling in the title. It's Theatre, god dammit!

Only in British English.

Chargos 07-20-2004 03:02 AM

Black Mage massage oils, that don't smell like his robes. :bmage:THEY'RE MY SPELL COMPONENTS DAMNIT!!!!

Yeah, Brian, what's this I read that Ian J. was hugging you passionately in front of a crowd of lookers-on?

Actually, if you'll poke around virtually anywhere except the front page, you'll notice the window titles read: "Theatre." So, no matter which way you look at it, Brian needs to fix the title to something. I actually complained to Pierre when this Nuklear Power 2.0 was still in Beta, and he only fixed the main page.[/Edit]

Arlia Janet 07-20-2004 08:56 AM

I hope that Brian moves his art into other mediums like sculpture and abstract art. Imagine a thousand umbrellas with fighter on them lining the Orlando highways. It would be glorious.

Charmy 07-20-2004 10:16 AM

It's clear he's struck a deal with the Russians to paint Black Mage on the side of their next rocket. Not only is this extremely cool, it also makes him guilty of trading with the communists! Fun for all.

Really though, Brian's too evil to come out and tell us, so instead he drops hints and then leaves for a three day power-sleep to regain his super powers. Villainous, that is. By the time he comes back with the truth we'll probably have come up with such wild speculations that what he really has planned seems mild in comparison. Blast his oily hide, I say.

StacMaster-S 07-20-2004 10:21 AM

I am considerably frightened by this latest strip... especially with it's talk about "sleep" and "holes" and "Tim Buckley."

But anyway, the con was a blast! ...Even tho Scott R. was too busy to talk to a loser like me!

Ganurath 07-20-2004 10:46 AM

My money's on a trapping card game. RM would naturally be the most powerful character in any situation, considering how he can rearrange his stats.

Kenjar 07-20-2004 11:04 AM

I'm thinking something like a TV show, or something crazy-big like that. A full length 8-bit movie? In flash?!

The Smiling Assasin 07-20-2004 12:07 PM

8-bit Theater: The DVD!

Kenjar 07-20-2004 12:58 PM

Ah, of course! That actually sounds like the most likely thing so far.

snuj 07-20-2004 01:15 PM

but an 8-Bit Movie just wouldn't be the same!! i say he's making free sock puppets and slurpies for all!

Ganurath 07-20-2004 01:17 PM

But what if it is something in the actual plot line? Like Ranger joins up with the Dark Warriors and the have a huge final battle between two teams of six.

Light Warriors (and WM and BB) vs Dark Warriors (and Berserker and Lich)

did you not read the thread? Brian says his Plans TM are for other things unrelated to the comic, like my sock puppet and slurpie idea.

slightly aboveaverage man 07-20-2004 02:24 PM

Maybe they're finally going to get Sosa to put some pants on, for Gods sake.

BMHadoken 07-20-2004 02:29 PM

Sosa dons his hidden RM cosplay suit, goes on a vodka bender, and holds a Burger King hostage using only a D20...AGAIN.

8-Bit Sex toys.

That Uwe guy options the rights to the 8-Bit movie.

Brian and Lydia decide to have an 8-Bit wedding. RM is the priest.

Arckanghel 07-20-2004 03:55 PM

As far as whether the spelling is theatre, it is completely debatable. The simple difference between Theater and Theatre being the possession of a stage. This applies to physical places, not the internet obviously. I would have to say, since Brian's comic, has no physical stage, in it's literal sense, it is most appropriately titled Theater. Unless of course Brian has a secret place in his apartment that is a Theatre and the episodes are played out first in such a place. And in that case Brian has problems that you or I can never understand.

Magic E-Mail Chicken 07-20-2004 04:07 PM

Poor Brian. That message made ME feel like going to sleep just because i read it.

I second the 8-Bit plushies.

Particleman 07-20-2004 04:30 PM

For some reason, I sense a book.

SNAFU 07-20-2004 05:24 PM

Have you all gone mad? Action-figures! With adjustable poses, kung-fu grip and night-vision goggles. Black Mage will have heat vision and Fighter will have detachable limbs (armoire of invincibility sold separately).

Vente 07-20-2004 06:18 PM

I want meh 8-bit movie.

Actually, :bmage:'s Spell Components are in his hat. The proof is somewhere... I'm just too lazy to look. The insult directed at his robes is, as my hero, :thief:, aptly put it:

"The similarities between your robe, a dress, and bedclothes should worry you more than being seen in any of them."

In other words, how his robes are similar to a girl's dress.

What? Oh, right, wild and unbased speculations...

I'm gonna go with comic books! That way we can see our favorite webcomic on the go (C. Books show 20-35 episodes at a time)!

I think he already does for letting Ian J. hug him passionately in front of a crowd of lookers-on. I know I'd never let a man do that to me, regardless of race.

Cyclone231 07-21-2004 04:25 PM

He's probably just going to fix the spelling of 8-bit Theater and is only telling us vaguely to piss us off when it actually happens. Then he'll figure out some way to joke around it while he communicates with the IRS about all the mob threats he's gotten.

What, don't you believe me?

What I actually think is he saying is that he's going to get his book published or something like that that totally doesn't matter to the comic. And therefore to us.

pclips 07-21-2004 06:40 PM

I'm just... way too pleased to be one of only two people in existence who can completely get today's non-strip strip. I can get any joke in the world where my teeth can fit. It's my superpower.

I'm underwater!

Corneria Guard#4 07-21-2004 06:58 PM

Nuklear Age: The Monthly Comic Book

StacMaster-S 07-21-2004 07:15 PM

Curse you Balder! *shakes fist* If Mario Panghenetti wasn't my brand new comic arch-nemesis (for no reason), it would be you with your insiderness!

Insiderness is a word, right?

Insiderness is a word, right?

As an English major I could legally declare it a word, but I'm sworn to use those powers only for goodliness.

Tell me about it, the guy was a total ass. Also if I might say.. I think he likes the broadway musicals, if you catch my drift.

..Flaaaamer..

Otaku Son 07-23-2004 12:00 AM

Who's this Scott R.(meaning, whats his claim to fame, such as Brian would be the cartoonist of 8BT)?

Hamelin 07-23-2004 12:34 AM

Scott, Mario's only your arch nemisis because he updates so much more often then you do.

Pretty Mary K 07-23-2004 06:10 AM
