I support and agree with MC43.

But still direct all heat towards him.

We get all the reccomended doses of romance whenevr Raiden and Celes are in the same thread *rimshot*

But, romance doesn't work, unless you really force it, and then it just distracts from the story.

Now a romance RP...damn would that sink fast.

I wouldn't call what happens between celes and Raiden romance. More like Celes taking pity on Raiden's pathetic attempts to makeout with her character.

I just wanted everyone to know that my fight scene entry is up, even though you could have easily discerned such a thing by looking at the fight scene thread. In any case, I will have my dramatic post up in a little while, and I promise no one will die. But if you do like death, especially gory cinematic death, check out my fight scene entry. It's short, but I think I packed a lot of good stuff into it. okies!

Ah damn, my chances of getting any sort of place in this just turned to crap. I guess I should start writing for the next one now. Then I might stand a chance.

Hmm... Looks like fun.

All right, I'm in. No comment on how long it'll take to get my scenes up. :)

[edit]They're up! I've posted in both the fighting and drama threads.[/edit]

Forcing romance is the only way to get it in? I have to disagree... I think it would fit in rather nicely into a story... but that's me. In any good movie or book, there is always the love connection (It can be subtle, yes, but there is one!). Why not bring that aspect of writing into Roleplaying? That's all it is. Creative writing...

BMHadoken 07-23-2004 02:06 PM

The problem with romance in RPs (as I see it) is that not a lot of people are keen to the idea, and since its not like writing by yourself, you have to pretty much waste a few posts every chapter creeping along as one RPer (lets call him...Raid) starts to do things with his character, maybe saving another RPer's (how bout...Cles) character, then Raid's guy propheses his love for Cles's gal, and Cles gets caught in the forced romance web and just tries to go along. Then we make fun of you for eternity.

Also, if the mods allow it, we could make this a whole RP contest shebang monthly or whatever. Don't like your score? Take a month, work out some kinks, pray for nicer judges, then get back in there and hope for a better score. As long as Rai and shiney don't mind sorta the same thing popping up every so often, it could work...EDIT: And (not faulting Raiden since he's doing a much better job than I did) we wouldn't really need to always lay the burden on one person. Have it be like the Superbowl, same rules, different arena.

Here are reaons why romance won't work.

I'm here.

Krylo is here.

There is only one regular female RPer, who goes along with anything just to be nice/out of pity.

Darth SS 07-23-2004 02:52 PM

I feel I should point out that you yourself did romance at one point IHMN...

Nature's Axiom.

IHMN hitting on Celes every second post. It was glorious.

And it even started to go somewhere! So priceless...
