The Moon

This is sorta of a big discussion. Did we really land on the moon? Or did they film the men in a test room or a movie set or someother place and just fake the launch and landing?

Although I really don't want to think about it, I'd say that we did. We were too busy building nukes to blow up the Commies 1,776 times to make such quality material. Quality for the time period, anyhow.

As an employee of the US government, I have learned that no government is smart enough and no government has the resources for any type of successful conspiracy. Besides, the collateral damage of having a conspiracy fail far outweighs any gain you could get from it.
Another proof is Armstrong left a mirror on the moon so NASA could bounce a laser off of it to calculate distance, speed, what-not. I'm too lazy to cite my information, but you can still bounce a laser off of it today.

Well we were scheduled to return to the moon, but do to budget cuts... Well we really can't afford to uplift the immagination of humanity. These days we have to attack those with possible links to Al Qaeda, rather than reach for the stars and inspire the world.

Plus, you know all the people that had the imagination to make something like that were partying at Woodstock.

Or were sitting around chatting in comic site forums.

We went. I've heard every single bit of conspracy theorist mumbling debunked, point by point. Some people say the stars are too clear... that's because there's no atmosphere. Some people say the flag was moving wrong... that's because there's almost no gravity and no atmosphere so the inertia from being planted caused it to move for awhile. Etc. etc.

Plus there's the mirror thing.

I think the best proof that it wasn't a faked landing, even if you don't look at the footage (and at the scientific data still being gathered from the trips there), is the fact that the Soviet Union went along with it.

They listened in to the whole thing, and if it was that obvious that it wasn't a real mission, they'd have gained a lot by denouncing it.

In the pictures though, at a distance, there is a line. Strait. It dosn't bend. So that means its not a dip in the land. So if they had to take two different shots and put them together to form the full shot, then why dons't the ship and astronaughts have a line through them? The line could be the edge of a room. A movie set perhaps? Or a test room?

And isn't it just convenient that we have budget cuts that don't allow us to go back up to the moon?

Yes. And aliens built the pyramids and UFOs are visiting our planet constantly.

Conspiracy theorists aren't 'misunderstood.' They are caught up in their own delusions and get offended when people make fun of them. To me, it's like religion. One guy makes something up, claims he's right, and gets a billion followers. Then another guy does the same thing. Neither have solid evidence because they both just made it up.

We landed on the moon.

edit: which reminds me, there are these two really cool rooms of ebook-audiobook collectors on soulseek that i go to, and everyone is really intelligent--we talk and discuss things and i find it quite fun. However, I always have to stop the discussion because eventually we get around to UFOs and aliens. Sigh.
