The Scariest Movies ever made.
Well, I'm satisfied with the worst movies thread. Let's have a scary movie thread. Same format: What scary movie and why.
|
I never really watched scary movies, mainly because my parents never let me see one, but anyway the scariest one I did see would be either Stephen King's The Langilers or John Carpenter's Vampiers because, you know, there's vampiers and monsters in there. And yay! My 50th post!
|
I never got worked up over horror movies before, until The Ring. CREEPY. Damn freaky little girl and all the ghoul faces.
Someone did spoil the end for me before I even thought of seeing it, and pissed me off... but meh... it's the only movie ever to scare me =P |
John Carpenter's The Thing
|
The blair witch project. Not because it's scary in and of itself, but rather because it's frightening that so many people liked it. That, my friends, is a terrifying thought.
Also... It. Now, I never really get scared of movies, because my family was the exact opposite of Alien4life's, meaning I've been watching horror since before I could talk... but it was done brilliantly. The fact that you never actually see the full monster until it is defeated. It really works the fear of the unknown (which is generally far more frightening than any monster could truly be). And the directing etc. was really very good, so far as I'm concerned. |
The Ring and The Thing (Hey, they rhyme! Coincidence?) are the only two movies to ever give me nightmares. I even hid from my dog for a month after The Thing. (Those who have seen it know what I'm talking about.)
|
Hate to say it again, but The Ring. Hooboy...best twist ending ever.
Nothing else really sticks out in my mind, but, eh, that's not all that surprising; I don't watch a lot of movies, nonetheless horror flicks. |
The head spider was far creepier or when the guys chest ate the guys arms. Also the fact that this was pre CG made it even more terrifying to see.
|
Heh...I have The Ring. I can't believe I forgot to mention that. Sweet movie that is...good thing I don't get nightmares...
Bedtime for me, school tomorrow :( |
Being the horror movie buff that I am, I'll spearate mine into two categories: scary and creepy.
Scary: The Shining, The Exorcist, The Ring, Darkman Creepy: Requiem for a Dream, Clockwork Orange |
