On total, we have 7.5 mages (6 full ones and 3 half ones), out of 12 characters.

Holy crap, can we get a majority veto on SS's guy? Best fighter, magic sword, yadda yadda, and his downside? The group has to look to him to be the hero? Thats shit.

I mean, I know SS is running this, but cmon, even Raiden waited till his RPs got rolling before he pulled out the superhero stuff.

Actually, I'm just putting all the shit I progressively pulled out during the first one, clean out there right away, no surprises.

And all the magic sword is his sign of being a Swordmaster. And it has a tendency to avoid being snapped, chipped, or rusty. Quite convenient during a war.

And I'm not saying the group has to look to him. If you don't know him, and you've heard of Eltharion, and you hear he's trained by Eltharion, civilians instantly make huge leaps with their minds.

He isn't the best fighter. Experience only goes so far. He might think of himself as the best fighter, but only in his own form of fighting. Also, he's an elf, so he's weak physical.

Instinct, experience, and a good respect for what happens if you mess up also help.

And listen to IHMN. After a fashion, he's aiding my argument.

actually, Gileads first appearance was a story by the name of Gileads Wake. it detailed the bloody vengeance he wreaked upon the conspirators of his twin brothers murder, it was in one of the earlier issues of Inferno. Also, he was more like a wood elf, but more specifically the scion of an independent enclave of high elves which remained in the old world after the main body of elves either returned to Ulthuan or retreated into the forests. He was not actually an Ellerion Reaver, which my character is based off of. I used the name Gillead and what I thought was another random elven name I had heard at some point, now that I think of it its possible that the two were put together at the start, I can't really recall Gileads last name. But, if a simple transgression like copying a name, which in itself was copied from the bible anyways, is enought to get me kicked out, so be it.

yes, now I remember, his last name was definitely Lothain, its been about 3 or 4 years since I've read that story, his fathers name was Cothor Lothain. I guess that makes my name whole sale rip off then, thats pretty funny actually. let me think, hrrmmm, hows about Irandor Isidus? thats 100% made up on the spot by me right now. If that name accidently coincides with some other famous fictional elf dude, then I give up, but I'm pretty sure it doesn't. Concept stands the same as my previous post however, and if you'll notice I mentioned nothing about being a mopy, nihilistic vengeance machine in my bio, so before you start flinging accusations it would be nice to give someone the benefit of the doubt.

I'll say this much with complete conviction, I have a good imagination and sense of humor, I am a naturally personable guy and i will most definitely contribute meaningfully to any intelectual pursuit I am involved in, including this RP. So if you want a great rper to play along with, let me play. if you want to close doors because of knee jerk reactions, its your loss buddy.

Zoam, I have never heard of your guy before, so I can't comment about how much was copied from the source, but forum rules state that "there is to be no copying of extant characters, lest the almighty Wrath of Mod smite yo' ass" (paraphrased). If you like Gilead, find what you like about him and make a new character with that aspect. Then it's YOUR character, your voice in the world.

I hope this works out for you. All this unpleasantness about kicking people out and withdrawals irks me.

Your right about that Dante, but I honestly didn't mean to copy the character, I used his name because I thought it sounded cool, which I have subsequently changed in the name of originality. The actual character is not Gilead from any of the stories, he's an original creation. My mind somehow locked on a name from the past that I really liked and that was what I intitially posted. other than that my character is not a copy.

I hope that explains it enough.

Your character and the Gillead from the books deffintely aren't the same. I took a look at him (since I read the book that features him a few months ago) and Gillead was a bitter, twisted individual who enjoyed battle a little too much and was basically looking for a place to belong.
