what do u think about this..

who do you hink was right in this matter..

Neither.

The children need discipline, though the teachers way of handling it wasn't the way it should have been enforced. A stern and frank telling off from a headteacher or principal would have done the job instead of having to result in physical violence.

ok but imagine this...if he didn't retaliate to the one that jumped him and endured whatever abuse the chidren would dish out on him as a result of his peaceful solution then later on it as can by seen by his violent reaction he may have done something a bit more drastic to shut the little buggers up..

RaiRai 07-27-2004 01:17 PM

Not really. Walking away from the situation would have been the better option. Even with adults to have something taken to that extreme level is just stupid. Because things can be resolved without having to bring physical aspects into it.

Oh man, thats just crazy. I dont know where to start, maybe with what he should have done: not hit the kids. Drag them to the principles office or some how get a principle or vice principle in to the room. Sure it sounded like the kids needed a good beating but it wasn't the subs place to decide if they needed it or to do it himself. We try to live in a "civilized" society, and beating a bunch of misbehaving 6 year olds is not usually considered civilized.

That is just....Awsome. to bad he didnt have a teaching assistant.

Dude...thats alot of midgets though

Edit: And anyways, black mage said it best "I solve my problems with violence."

Krylo 07-27-2004 02:19 PM

They were both in the wrong, but the kids were definately more wrong than he. Who hasn't had a hard day? Who wouldn't lash out and smack someone after they decided to hit you for just doing your job when your job had been hell for hours on end? The guy did what most people would have done. Granted, that doesn't make it right. It just makes it defensible. The children, on the other hand, had no right acting like they had been, at all. They didn't do what most people would have, they were just being horrible little brats.

Wow he took on 20 first graders by himself! He must be like the greatest fighter ever! haha lol

But in all seriousness they were both wrong. The students more so. The teacher overreacted to the 3rd student. He's 6 years old. If he could actually hurt the teacher a fully grown man then that's just very sad. I would have just dragged all of them down to the office at once because they were probably only a combined weight of 150 lbs. Geez!

Nosferatu 07-27-2004 07:19 PM

They we're both wrong i say... but honestly if i was that guy.. i woulda porably did same thing to much larger extent...

Lockeownzj00 07-28-2004 03:41 PM

Even though they were kids, it's self-defense when there are 21 of them on you.
