Vampire Hunter D

It's 18 years old now..but...it's very sweet. I'll try to explain without revealing any plot, but it'll be hard.

There's a Vampire Hunter (D), and he's hired by a woman to hunt vampires.

Ok, so that didn't sound interesting, but like I said, I didn't want to reveal any plot.

It has great animation, it's creepy in the dark, and it's got a great story.

I myself enjoyed VHD: Bloodlust more, but I enjoy the original's classic feel.

the Original was my first Anime I ever saw many moons ago. It was beautiful. After that I got into the Anime hardcore.. but then just couldn't keep up, and I had too many things to divert my money too...

It's my Love/hate relationship with my graphic novel collection...

I have to vote Bloodlust the superior movie as well. Except the sand rays. Let us never discus the sand rays.

I have this, but I only watch the action scenes. The story hurts my brain.

I liked the ending. It was a bit of a suprise (At least from start... later it cam perhaps little too easy to guess) I liked the talking hand...And the sick fellow who could project astral body...

Both the Vampire Hunter D movies were pretty great in their own respects, Bloodlust being the superior one. The original has to be respected for its roots and closeness to the novel series. Bloodlust's animation though was very beautiful, and the vocal acting was very good for most of the characters.

Course, I can't say the respective video game was all too great... but that's an entirely different thread.

i think bloodlust was a lot better than the first one, but the first one was good.

Saw the first when I was about ten, don't remember it too well. Saw the second several months ago, I liked it quite a bit, esp. the fact that the story didn't revolve around D, who is faceless, emotionless, static, and uninteresting in that movie. In fact, at the end, when D

fought the countess lady while the huntress was poised to shoot the vampire, I had literally no interest in D's fight because I couldn't care less whether or not he lived or died (and you knew he was going to win anyway).

I've not ever been a fan. It just seems too bland. I suppose it's because D is boring, but powerful beyond reason.
