8-Bit Character Casting Call!!
 

Remember a while ago, the great Brian posted that an Australian Radio company is making radio plays of 8-Bit Theater? Well, some of us aren't Australians, so we may never know.

My point is.. Calling all 8-Bit Fans!! Like the great TLF before me, I seek voice actors for an online "radio play"!! Starting at Episode 1, we will work our way up the ladder, so people can listen to the radio plays while they read their favourite Episodes of 8-Bit!

The open positions are as follows:

Black Mage
Red Mage
White Mage
Black Belt
Garland
Sara
Any other character that appears before Episode 60.

Requirements:
A Microphone (duh),
AOL Instant Messenger

Like TLF, you are welcome to post your sound files here in this thread, but if you REALLY wanna grab my attention, send them to me via E-Mail (sparksterknight (at) yahoo (dot) ca) with the title "8-Bit Casting Call!" and, for Bahamut's sake, use LINKS!! Attachments will be deleted!
Oh, and be sure to say who you are applying for, and what episode you are doing (episode with introduction is preferred).

The position applications end August 7, so you all have 1 week to bring your best voices to apply!

I hope it works out, but in the best interests of everything, I need to make one request.

Please, oh please god, make sure the voice actors are reliable, and of good quality.

Of the fraction of a percentage of these projects that don't die after the first episode, oftentimes that is because the people who are making it likely don't realize that either A) the sound quality is horrible, or B) they really, really suck. Of the folks who don't fit into either of those categories, they might have some modicum of actual success and were accepted.

As far as I can tell, out of my own personal several years of being in the happy 8-bit circlejerk, only one person thus far has made it to that category - and that is TLF. And his computer exploded, taking 8-bit flash with it.

So. If you're going to do it, please do it right, and do it well...don't settle for "It's okay."

Make it excellent.

You forgot Fighter, the most important of all? I'm calling Fighter.

First, why is AIM a requirement? Secondly, I have a microphone, but not much of a sound card. Might want to make "A Microphone" into "ability to record voice." However, I can record voice via recording video, and if someone would like to transfer my voice from video to .wav/.mp3 format, I have no object to that.

I said all positions that are open! Fighter and Thief are already taken... at least, I think. I'm trying to get AntonioPizza for Fighter, and Rhyos Beoulve has already agreed to do Thief... If I can't get AntonioPizza, I'll either do Fighter myself, or find a valuable VA.

As for AIM being a requirement... it's the only Instant Messaging program that doesn't totally shmuck my computer.. and I'll keep "The Ability To Record Voice" for future projects; thanks.

I'm tossing a coin whether to see if I can voice EPS or White Mage. I'll put on my best British accent and see if I'm any good, first off. =3

You ought to do EPS, since everyone knows that all the evil people always have British accents, no matter their native language.

I might do BM in my demon voice...

I'll do Black Mage. I can do creepy lecherous villains good.

I'll do some Red Mage if I can be instructed as to how to record it, I've got a mike and all, but I'm not extremely savvy with the computer...
