Axiom Gaiden: Chapter 3; Wow that's ugly.
 

After finishing their breakfast discussions, the group finally got around to going after the monster.

They'd just been cutting through the jungle, slowly making their way along, and looking for anything they could use.

Then they'd heard the growling. Then something jumped at them. It had the head of a snapping turtle, and fours legs that were long and wily, and each individually armoured. It's torso was split into two pieces, each covered in it's own respective shell.

When it jumped out, it plucked Tweek, Ka, Guy, Axel, Fredan and Lucian clean out of the group...

Tweek, Ka, and finally Lucian woke up. Webbed. Onto the ceiling.

Ka looked around, inhaled, then screamed like a school-girl. This woke the others up, and let them assess their situation. Namely, being around 15 feet off the ground, webbed onto the top of a cavern's ceiling, with a body of water below them.

Within the water were hundreds of little glowing things.

"...we better be getting close to finding that thing." Vin said. They had been following it's path for nearly 8 hours now, and he was getting very hungry.

Axel woke up to a loud, and unusually high-pitched, scream. He tried moving, but couldn't. When his vision finally came into focus, he noticed what exactly was going on. "Great, such a fun week I've been having. Filled with death, destruction, odd monsters, and random people," he mumbled, but, being in an almost empty cave, what he said was heard by everyone else.

Lucian sighed a bit, and one of his hands glowed, burning the web around it, and then a small burst of fire carefully burnt away any webbing near his mouth, thus allowing him to chant and gesture as he had before. "Forlineldastarhil tiroth startirothnarelda arthnardae brinothdaeyis tiroth renothkarn, daeeldaforlineldacuratir tirhilelda daeeldaarthdaelinyis brinlinothstar othfor miryis eldanareldamiristaeldastar."

His skin once more turned to stone, as it had the last time he had been knocked unconcious and taken away. "I shall have to remember to be certain I do not go anywhere for the duration of this trip without my... protections." He then looked down at the water and saw all the small glowing objects. "Apparently, we've found the creature's young... I suppose I should exterminate them."

He then glanced toward the two idiot dwarves, as he created a bolt of lightning in his hand. "On the other hand, perhaps I should let you down into the water first?" he asked, more than a little annoyed at Ka's screaming.

(edit: Just noticed Axel awoke to the scream not with a scream. Fixed.)

Ganurath looked around the party that remained. "Well at least we have a fresh lead. I assume the party backstabber may have some tracking skills?" Ganurath smirked tauntingly at Locke.

"Hey, I follow money and valuable stuff, not bloodthirsty abominations of nature with a vested interest in relieving me of my life."

He shook his head clear of the fogginess that seemed to be clinging inside of it and looked up again.

"That said, it's probably best to find the others. We have the fire mage, the wind mage and god knows who else with us, so I guess it shouldn't be so hard..."

"Well, I suggest we start looking for a dank, dark, big cavern complex that seems like a maze where the group can easily be seperated so the spider-beast can pick us off our traitors can kill or rape their trusting comrades. That's usually where monsters live."

"Well, THAT clears it up. Thank you very much for all of that helpful information." Al was dusting himself off after narrowly avoiding the turtle-spider.

"Anyone see which way it went?"

"Hmm, I don't know about the rape part, but spiderbeasts do tend to live in cavern complexes... And almost all cavern complexes are found in mountains. It seems to be some strange decree by whichever God you believe in that there aren't very many underground cavern complexes... That's why I'm not religious."

"Actually spiders live in dark places, but also near places where they can catch prey. I reccomend looking near larger trees and areas that provide lots of shade."
