Fuck, I am stupid today. Ashi-kyu are foot bows, Unicorn only. Everyone can use Dai-kyu (horse bows) and yumi (hand bows).

Well, I'm going to be gone for the next 9 hours or so, so if the battle starts before that, just have Taken declare himself wherever the archers should be. I'd guess this would be engaged, but as that we aren't really going to be in the fighting until the lion manage to wade through arrowy death, I'm not sure.

If I'm still not back when they DO wade through the arrowy death, probably heavily engaged. You know... the whole over confidence thing...

What would ranged combat be with arrows? Just engaged?

Archers are eithe reserves or disengaged. Engaged or Heavy mean you are in melee combat.

Would Kyoji even be in this fight? It would seem stupid for the Lions to use their chained, dragon prisoner (He is a ronin, but they won't believe that) to fight.

Up to you. You can keep your self in reserves if you want

If I can't think of a logical reason as to why they would let Kyoji fight (And take off at least his leg chains), then he will be in reserves.
