Mad Mad Holiday Season
Ah. We're getting into *that* season again. Where all the developers rush to release their game, so that maybe their's will be picked up for being put under the tree. Yes, I'm talking about the Holiday season of Gaming, and it seems it's already getting mad here in August/September. Most games aren't expected to survive, "Murderer's Row" (The so-called lineup of FPS's), but a few golden games look like they will shine through the rest. The point? What game or device has you sold this Holiday season? Seeming we have everything from new games, new consoles, to the RoboSapien, it would appear that this will be a hard year to choose.

It is indeed the beginning of a huge season for gaming. Starting September, my purchases number as such: Sly Cooper 2, Half-Life 2, Metal Gear Solid 3, Jak 3, Ratchet and Clank 3, possibly Halo 2, probably Fable, and so on and so on. Yes, my wallet will be in a constant state of EMPTY.
What is everyone else psyched about? |
Well, I had recently compiled a list of what I'd like to purchase this holiday season. It went something like this (In no particular order):
Star Ocean 3 Phantom Brave Growlanser Generations Premium Boxset Metroid Prime 2 Paper Mario 2 Metal Gear Solid 3 GTA: San Andreas Guilty Gear XX Reload (XBLive) Street Fighter Anniversary Collection Gradius V King of Fighters: Maximum Impact King of Fighters '02/'03 Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories Final Fantasy XI: Chains of Promathia (PC and PS2, providing they don't cancel my character due to the CC I used to pay for my current account being stolen and subsequently cancelled... if I can't transfer over, screw it, I'm done) Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne Digital Devil Saga Silent Hill 4 Mortal Kombat Deception Suikoden IV Guilty Gear Isuka I think that's about it. Including my employee discount, that comes out to just barely under $1000. This doesn't include the DS launch and any software that looks appealing to go along with it. If I don't end up getting the house I'm looking at, I'll end up buying all of this stuff. If I do, I'll probably have to slash the list down to under $300 worth on my projected budget, which really sucks because I'm looking forward to each and every aforementioned title. |
The only thing that angers me about games is my lack of money to upgrade my computer so I can run them (on PC) or to even buy the freakin games!
|
I'm waiting on Timesplitters:Future Perfect(is that not the coolest sub-title ever!?) and Burnout3:Takedown ( very cool sub-title aswell.)
|
Im looking forward to Halo 2 and World of Warcraft, but im not sure if i will get world of warcraft if the monthly cost is too high.
|
burnout isn't that great
I'm getting nfl 2k5, for twenty bucks! oh yea dw4: EMIRES |
Me? I waiting for three games in particular. And they all deal with conspiracy.
Evil Genius (oh yeah..) Blue Vault (if it comes out this year) Destroy All Humans Oh course, I will probally get others, but these are the one's I am actually waiting for. |
Me? I'm something of a cheapskate and also a highschool senior who recently quit both his jobs to spend more time on school. So I'll probably be getting Metroid Prime 2: Echoes and thats about it.
|
Usually, my presents involve games, or money for games, or gift certificates to Best Buy.
I try not to spend my own money if I can help it, but if I'm given money as a present, this tells me "I don't know what to get you, so you should pick it out yourself," as opposed to "Money! Glorious new god! Save it!" Does the DS have a holiday release? If so, that would be my first priority. Then Metroid Prime: Echoes (As soon as I defeat Prime, though...). And I might rent Paper Mario 2 first, because the first one wasn't great in my opinion. Other than that, I can dick around in Spidey 2 and be perfectly happy doing so. |
