gotta love analizing 8-bit theater... and assuming it's future

ok I'm sure a billion topics have covered this but not sure if many have acually used it as it's point. and if it has, please, by all means delete/lock this thread, but I'm pointing it specifically in this direction.

I'd like to bring to the attention of the jury, the strange cookie-induced dreams of our heros. Are these strange mind-bending dreams just weird, or do they have a much, much deeper meaning and hold the key to the future of what is the most in-depth sprite comic on the free internet to date? or is brian just throwing in stuff for no reason? I want to see what you think, if you're the geeky type who love analizing stuff!

I think that leyline comic is pretty convincing. Thief's has already come pretty much true...(right? I need to read 'em again.)

oh, and if someone could point out all of these special comics, because I seriously cannot remember the names, sorry XD

I think the nexus one had something to do with blackmage and the source of his raw power (which is so far surpassing any other mage we have even HEARD about, with the possible exception of the time mage that was really just a blurb). The RM one seemed to be more a comment on his character than anything. The thief one seemed more like a flashback than a dream. Fighter's, was, of course, his first conversation with Dr. Swordopolis, and not really a dream persay, but obviously fighter is important. And Garland's is a bit of foreshadowing towards him becoming chaos as well as a joke about forest imps. Those darn kids.

I'm assuming he is more powerful.

iBrow 12-02-2003 04:33 PM

they're weird, but fairly strait forward. BM is a power nexus. Thief's has to do with his elvishness and royalty, which was still secret during that strip. RM just describes his quest to become the best/most versitile character ever, and Fighter is the only one that hasn't been fully explained. He's some sort of warrior of destiny or something. Garland's was a joke.

transcend 12-02-2003 07:54 PM

*tsk*
Fighter is the Light Warrior, the one destined to...y'know...swords.

RM wants immortality.

Garland's isn't a joke! His dream was very sad and very scary!

LilWhiteMage 12-02-2003 08:23 PM

I have to admit, it was kinda sad how mean old Evil Princess Sarah wouldn't let Garland come and cuddle up like a scared little kid after a nightmare. Wait a minute.. no it wasn't... it was funny as hell :D I do agree that Fighter's dream does seem to foreshadow that he is actually a chosen warrior, even if he isn't exactly the brightest or doesn't have the longest attention span.

MY2K 12-02-2003 10:28 PM

hmmm. ok, we know theif's destiny thingy has come true, he's a prince. I think RM may be up next. not sure though. the way the more recent dwarven comics have been going, he seems to be in more then usual. only brian knows the answers. man, what I wouldnt pay to know everything :0

iBrow 12-02-2003 10:50 PM

actually, we're still finishing up thief. What his dream was about was not only the hints of him being on a mission for some nation or other, later turning out to be the elves, it is also about how the land is dying, which is somehow tied to the very mortality of the elves. This is the whole reason they are going after the earth sphere. After he gets it back, elf land will be truely saved.

Nah. If the magic shop owners were more powerful than BM it would be safe to assume that even MORE powerful mages would be working for the crown/police forces, as that the crown would hire the most powerful mages they could... and given that BM has yet to run across anyone that matches his magical powers in all of his mayhem (like slaughtering everyone in the retirement home, or driving children to suicide, etc.), it seems safe to assume that BM was actually quite a bit more powerful than the magic shop owner. Not to mention, I think there would be a few shop owners in at least ONE of the many dwarven cities BM destroyed easily.

Kai 12-03-2003 12:13 AM

Well, if I'm right in assuming that BM is a power nexus, then that would certainly help explain why he's so very incredibly insane. You don't hear about many other black mages raining down electric death on random old men, you know.

And, you never know... Garland's might be important... The imps may become the central point in turning him fully eviiiil and vengeful! Or something... ^_^()
