This would be sort of Universe X/Kingdom Come style quasi alternative reality.

Superman Goes bad(via some sort of manipulation of evil that throughly blackens his soul, I'm talking Hal Jordan Parrallax Bad) Slaughters 100s of DC comic characters. Comic opens with the Captain America or Hawkeye is in the Avenger HQ manning the Main screen thing. Suddenly a previously blank screen pops on and a strange alarm starts going off aThe Screen is fuzzy and what appears to be Batman with like bloody running form his mouth appears with distress call that some evil has occured and killed "everyone" (maybe someone besides batman would be better int aht role) he continues to make vague comments and very specific demands for help before a red flash takes him out and screen goes black.

Captain america is puzzled and concerned and the avengers assemble

Some where in the marvel universe Dr. Strange is having a nightmare he wakes up in cold sweat and heads over to the avenger's mansion he explains that there is distress the diemension opposite to theres and it grave.

A boom tube opens and out of some DC hero falls out beaten bloody and battered but alive. Explains that Superman has gone nuts (maybe Darkseid is involved) and has just gone nuts so far that he even destroyed Darkseid or something (the something has to be totally badass).

things get rolling and the Avengers decide that if there are lives to be saved they must do the duty. Dr. Strange opens a protal to the DC univerise probably Metropolis or Gotham and it just totally devestated and appears lifeless...

And hilarity ensues..

It needs tweaks but that would be a sweet "What If" or "Elseworlds" story...

You know what a good ending would be? The world exploding out of no where. Just like in the middle of the plot just make the world explode for no reason.

Dilbert and Ziggy team up against the kids from "Family Circus". Halfway through getting their asses kicked, the children stumble across their latent psychic powers and begin throwing psionic bombs at their oponents. Dilbert and Ziggy use their Garfield decoder ring to summon Marmaduke-doken... and the battle for the fate of the multiverse rages on......

Garfield vs. Heathcliff or whatever that other cat his. Aferwards they all die. for no reason.
