"I think I may be able to solve our problem there." Arthus said as Wind told him what Shuren has said. "I suggest that we split into two groups. I'll handpick a detachment of knights from my battalion to accompany us on our quest, while the rest head for the nearest settlement possible." Arthus paused as he took out a map from his backpack and looked at it. "According to my map, there is an elven settlement just a few leagues or so from here. If my men can reach there in time, the elve's powerful magic may be able to hold them off. With two groups going in separate directions, the undeads will have to split their forces to follow us, or they might not follow at all. I know it's a little risky, but unless you can convince me of a better plan, I'd say we do this. Any objections?" He looked around inquiringly.

"<... Or we could do what Arthus just said,>" Wind finished kind of lamely even before she started to answer Shuren.
"The idea has too many flaws, Arthus," she replied to the knight's query. "The undead army numbers grow even as our numbers fall. Even if they do split, I am making an assumption that they will still outnumber us ten to one. But who am I to make such a judgement on perhaps misinformed numbers?" Wind shrugged, "The plan is heavily flawed, but it carries hope, and where there is even the slightest bit of hope, there is a high chance that it will most likely work.
"But, it's not really an objection, so I will hold my tongue now and just follow," she finished, standing.

OOC: I think i screwed this post up o.O I said everything and nothing. Fun :)

Edit: Duly noted and corrected.

OOC: You just made my character sound like a retard. X(

OOC: As a little aside, the undead aren't exactly popping up like daisies. It takes a lot of power to raise an army of undead. Then again, they don't know how much power their foe has.

Shuren listens to the plan with his head cocked to one side before saying, <You can not be sure if the elves like take these humans entering their territory well. If you move in just one large pack, it will be far easier for the dead that walk to follow you. Many small packs would be harder for them to follow. We must choose quickly, death stalks us at every turn.> He looks restless to leave this place.

"The plan does have merit, but first, we need our saftey." Aeris replies, like an instructor in a briefing. "Firstly, you fail to see one important fact. These undead, are, most obviously, being guided, how else could they know where we are? I suspect they are homing in on the curse planted upon me by their now-dead leader."

Now, trying to look well enough to be normal, Aeris strides out of the tent toward Arthus, "Therefore, it would be far safer to take your entire army, including yourselves, to the elven settlement, then plan your quest." Removing her nearly destroyed map, and attempting to make sense of it, Aeris tosses it on the ground, pointing at a white blob with her staff. "There, If I can make it to White Wolf mountain before the next wave, the undead will have difficulty finding, and more or less surviving, in that frozen wasteland. This will give you time to escape, and I shall meet up with you later."

Edit so I dont need to repost: Aeris turns to Charcion, slightly startled by his appearance, and replies, "Arthus was discussing his plan to retrieve certain relics for our quest, and, although I do agree you were the target, the enemy cannot as readily detect you as they can me. They are using me to strike at the rest of us."

((Damn, she's a selfless martyr, that one.))

Charcion stepped into the middle of the conversation, startling all of them with his new eyes and sight. He gave a smirk and said, "What happened was for me only, and me alone. So, what's the plan?"
((I've been busy, be quiet --;))

"I will accompany you, Aeris," Wind stepped out, her sightless eyes taking in the shimmering aura of a newly-made Charcion. Still, something didn't seem right, though it was ever so difficult to pinpoint what bothered her. She turned to Aeris. "I can provide a fast transport. How long will the journey take on foot, or even better, on wing?"

OOC: I'll have my Character be the martyr along with you ^_^ Unless of course, Shuren needs her.

"Alright then," Arthus decided after pondering the problem for a moment. "Aeris, Shuren and Wind shall head for the White Wolf Mountain, while me, Charcion and the rest of the army make a run for the elven settlement of Tirranda." Arthus pointed at the locations in his map. Then he looked up and Aeris, Wind and Shuren. "Try and shake off the undead if you can, but whether you succeed or not, I'll need you make a run for Tirranda after TEN days. I'll need you to be there."

Arthus took in the faces of his companions one more time, before adding, "Do not die. Our quest hinges upon your survival. Now, if there is nothing else.....Let's move."

PhoenixFlame 10-08-2004 04:47 AM

Aeris closed her eyes, smiled, and dipped her head slightly, in a friendly signal of respect, "Thank you Wind." She then turned to Arthus, "Understood." whilist bowing her head, crossing her hands across her chest, in shuch a way as to make a hand-sign akin to a two-headed bird.

"Shuren, Wind, we must make haste, the army's saftey depends on how quickly we can escape." Aeris said, turning around, hair and robes whipping in an almost beautiful way. Then it hit her again, a stray thought that didnt belong, some hint of failure, a hint of mistrust also for shuren, She shook it off, blaming her cursed state, then smiled at the two of them.

OOC: I'll drop in my first tid-bit from Notikas now.

Notikas speaks to Charcion from within his mind again. "I feel I must say something that not everyone may yet have realised. Please tell this to them. The necromancer has survived. Though his physical body was slain, his spirit endures. We face no mere acolyte of necromancy but a master steeped in the forbidden lore of his dart art." Notikas' soul seems to shudder at the memory, "And he plans to rise again."

While Charcion listens to this, Shuren is looking at the map curiously. The concept of a piece of paper holding information is something new to him. He fails to see how dark lines can know the way to anywhere.
