You've got to love serendipity. Well, I do. :)
Aargh, I've been trying to think of an example for a while, and am still drawing a blank, even though it certainly happens to me. Narg. I'll get back to you if I think of something. |
Good accident? Well, there was the time I had to do "sai gang" (AKA "shit work", or all the boring unpleasant stuff you pray doesn't get foisted on you).
So I was muttering and grumbling as I sent those damn letters to the Camp Commandant's Office, but when i came back i foudn that one of the warrants had rounded EVERYONE up for some incredibly boring talk. The result? I was left alone in the office for three full hours... which I happily used to sleep/eat/surf the Net. |
"Good accidents" are few and far between, but I guess I can tell this one:
One winter I had broken my ankle playing basketball. I had to take the bus to school every day with my crutches. Just as I was getting to the end of my injury, I slipped on some ice and reinjured it, right before heading off to Florida for winter vacation. I was in a minor cast (just and ace bandage) and still had my crutches through out the entire vacation. However, because I had to use my crutches to walk, I got to go to the front of the line every time in Disney World. I actually got to ride all of the rides in the theme park. |
During lunch one day a friend and I walked over to her apartment. We got in the elevator, pressed 5, and waited. The elevator moved up a little, then stopped. We were stuck. In addition to this, the door kept opening and closing every few seconds. Anyways, we yelled for help. In an hour and a half, a guy arrived who opened the elevator in about two minutes, and we were free.
That sounds sucky, but the good thing is I missed having to do a French group presentation. I loathe presentations, particularly french ones. |
I have a similar one... I missed my train and thus a presumably very boring introduction to some class. Keep in mind it's three minutes tops to the train station from my front door.

I had this friend my freshman year of college. We all would go to his apartment and play video games, watch movies and stuff. My first real attempts at a social life. :O Anyway, he graduated that year and moved to his home city several hours away. I've seen him 2 times since then, and I've really missed him...he's really one of my favorite people in the world.
I don't have a car right now so if I go anywhere I take the bus. I live on a one way street, so to come back I come back on the one-way street 1 block over, with my college campus in between. Anyway, I was going to get off the bus at about 17th street and cross campus back to my apartment but then I decided to get off at 16th. I got off the bus and crossed hurridly before the light changed, its a multil-lane road that's always busy. Just as I got across I heard "Evvie!"(short for Evelyn) and there was my friend Evan sitting in his car. He circled around the block and I hopped in and we spent the next 45 minutes catching up, and we exchanged phone numbers. That totally made my day.:D |
Two words:
Pepsi Green. At the school cafeteria two years ago, my friend, to be known as "J" snuck some Fireball whiskey into the school. My other friend "A" bought himself some Pepsi Blue because it was his favorite drink. Now My third friend, "C" took out a glass and asked J for a drink. J wasn't paying attention as he was talking to a girl beside him and as he poured the drink, it went directly into A's Pepsi Blue. The Pepsi turned Green, and everyone just sort of stared at it for a while. When A took a drink out of it, he found his new favorite drink... and so did we all. Mmmm. pepsi green |
There is an aside to my original story. It seems that I caught a cold yesterday, which was not so good. What was good was that I had no ideal I was getting sick; that is until I woke up this morning. So besides being really happy for a good 6 or 7 hours I also delayed feeling sick. Of course large doses of Vicodin tend to make you not care about anything.

I have one!! My brother was sick and my mom asked me to stay home from school. I don't like babysitting my brother so I complained. I ended up staying home....but the next day I figured out that we dissected frogs that very same day I wasn't there!!

I have one. Once a friend and I were walking home after school and he tripped over something. He got up to find out it was a $20 bill under a rock! What luck!
