Castlevania: Lament of Innocence
Hello all! I am asking if anyone out there has played Castlevania: Lament of Innocence. If you have what is your opinion on the gameplay? You don't have to give me a big speel on it just an overview. I am wondering because I am extremely interested in getting the game. Thanks for viewing and posting if you post. :D

I'm currently playing it, and so far I'm really liking it. My only beef so far with it is that sometimes the camera angles can be a bit screwy, but other than that the gameplay is excellent ^-^

The point of view is better than the N64 Castlevania titles. The combat is cool...there are awesome combos that you unlock as you go and kind of like harmony of dissonance you can combine weapons with the magic orbs. Another cool thing is the elemental whips. But items are hard to find and there are some stupid puzzles (which you don't actually have to solve). It'll never be Symphony of the Night, and its kind of confusing. It's also pretty short.

I saw that when i went to the vid store yesterday. I wonder if it's like symphony of the night

Worst thing is when camera is facing towards you, and enemies are coming at you, but you can't see them, so they get a couple of free hits. That doesn't happen often, but is in there

I'll be getting it as soon as I can. I'm a Castlevania nut.

Love it myself. The combo system's great, camera angles are better than 90% of the action games out there, and the orb/secondary system flat out KICKS!
But...where's Alucard, dammit!? I wanna do some 3D-half vampire ass kicking!!! |
It's enough to make me want to buy a PS2 after recently acquiring a PSX.
|
Do you mean the original playstation or the new japanese PSX with the built-in hard drive and DVD burner?
If no one knows what I'm talking about, go here. http://games.slashdot.org/article.pl...id=188&tid=212 |
That Japanese PSX is coming to America, I believe.
Mirai: I agree that it'd be awesome to have Alucard. I'll admit I haven't played all the way through Lament of Innocense yet, so I don't know the full storyline, but it is the start of the Castlevania legacy, so perhaps Alucard does not exist yet? Either way, I'm definitely stoked to see what they do with Castlevania on PS2 and in 3D now that they have a fairly good model to build around. |
