Megatokyo

I don't know if this online comic has been spoken of before on these forums so I am going to give it a shot. Along with 8-bit theater this is another online comic that I love. It is about two friends named Piro and Largo and how they are stuck in China. I am not going to go into depth into the subject for fear that it has already been spoken about. If it hasn't and you are interested, the comic is here http://www.megatokyo.com/ . Enjoy! :)

Actually to make a correction, Piro and Largo are stuck in Japan... thus the title Mega TOKYO.

It is one of my other favorite online comics though, one targeted towards gamers as well. One of my personal favorite strips...

It jumped the shark when Rodney "Largo" Caston left. It's just not as good as it used to be. Don't get me wrong it's still a good product, but not as good as it once was.

That is actually the only comic in that japanese drawing style (Manga, Anime? Whatever the name is, I dislike it.) that made ever into my favorites. The monochrome-thing is its true strength, but as with all of these comics, I'm constaly confused because I'm totally unable to distingish any difference between the different women/girls, of whom -last time I counted- there are three times more in the cast. (Wow, looks like somebody is sexually repressed here!)
The same goes for Ed and Dom; I think Ed is the one with the glasses, right? Is that him who is the voice-actress boss? Whaa!
Well, at least I udnerstood that they are stuck in Japan. If china was that capitalistic, the US economy would be screwed...

Unlike a good 95% of the webcomics that use the (rather broad) manga-style, Piro actually developed his own style, instead of the same old cookie-cutter basic simplistic basic version. I've gotten tired of that basic art style. And I really think it's cool that Piro's style is so distinctive.

You're right; I especially like that he doesn't do -or at least, not overdo- these distorted faces with huge eyes and mouths.

My accidental mistake. Japan not China. At the time that I was typing that I was sleep deprived.

Still cool. It's okay. Not the best in world. I found it to be okay.

I find that reading while listening to The Pillows (Responible for FLCL soundtrack) hightens the experience.

No wonder the recent episodes have been all mopey and closer to a shonen manga...
