Nope, you're correct. Fighter's hasn't mentioned sword-chucks in about 100 strips either.

He might just be going through a phase tentatively called "character development" wherein Brian steps away from obvious cliché jokes that ruled the first 150 strips and begins to branch out on his own method of comedy genius.

The phrase "I like swords" was never meant to be anything other than a throw away line. Not even a joke, per se, just something to fill space. I've been phasing it out in a since, bringing it up less and less. Pretty much every instance of it has been like that and, in a couple comics, I make fun of the very concept of Fighter saying "I like swords."

There's waaaay more to 8BT than one catch phrase.

Something a friend mentioned today during class (Yeah...I know) is that the "Sword of Fate" hasn't spoken to fighter lately. Personally, I think the thing just gave up on him. I would.

Would you believe that on Gaia Online, there is a guild dedicated to the catchphrase 'I like swords'? It's kind've odd, though, because that happens to be the only comment every other post... -_-

You know, RaiRai, I do believe that. And its not incredulous belief, its normal accepting belief. Like when your math teacher tells you x=2, and thats what you got. I've given up on the creativity of humanity, especially in teenagers. Stupid kids. (I'm a teenager, by the way)

I've actually seen a chatroom reduced to "Welcome to Corneria" "I like swords" over and over.
