Concerning 8bit Animated 4
 

Let me start things off with a round of apologies. I'm sorry to have kept everyone in the dark for so long and I know everyone is looking forward to the next flash animation. Unfortunately I've had a few personal setbacks as well as bouts of laziness and that's why I'm here before you with nothing to show. Yet.

8-bit Animated 4 is well under way in development, no thanks to me. By my estimate we are about 80% done. Please don't take what I say here as definitive because extenuating circumstances can and usually will arise. The next episode should be done within a few weeks. It's shaping up to be a nice episode though I make no guarantees. I hesitate in saying this, but I believe this one will be better than anything we've done thus far.

Some quick answers to questions I've been asked. We're not sure how far this episode will go on the account that we're still working with a limited filesize of 5 MB. If things do hit the cutting room floor it will go into episode 5. White Mage will be introduced in this episode, Red Mage will not. We will NOT be holding an audition for Red Mage. As you remember we casted a new Black Mage, and the feedback we've gotten has indicated he's as good, if not better, than the previous voice actor. The new voice is similar to the previous one, so don't expect a jarring change. Bloopers - as always - will be present. Meddros is actively taking a part in this one, resulting in better production. Captions will be back.

On the subject of extenuating cicumstances...
I have recently become a member of what I like to call 'the guys holed up in their dorm room because they're afraid to leave it during first year at university' gang. So...yeah, I've had time and I haven't had time.

Firstly, I'd like to take this opportunity to point out that I already had all the lines done for this coming episode a month after we finished episode 3....
And then I had to redo everything because BM was recast.
poop.

Secondly, I've been really lazy.
Second and a halfly, my girlfriend got a yeast infection...and that affected my ability to pretend I had an excuse not to do anything...positively. (the effect was positive, not the anything)

Thirdly, one of our voice actors' computers crapped out for an extended period of time, and a line was missed, and so...replacements needed to be found...so, there's a few people to thank on the shemping score, so to speak (anyone else read that?)

Anyways, don't expect more news as things happen. We're taking the nin.com approach and giving you not enough news, right when you think there ought to be a pile.

I can't wait to see it. I recently moved into a condo with four roommates for college who hadn't seen the animations. They can't get enough of them now.

I find it ironic that after a month or so of break, I return to the forums to find TLF and Dj_StarChild online. It was your fault that I got here in the first place. Both with the forums, and the comic in general. I found a link from a strongbad fan site that showed he was in animated 8-bit 3. Then I saw the post showing auditions. Long story short: Thanks.

Thx for the news =) I was afraid that the next 8-bit theater flash animation would never be released.. continu your good work (and forgive me for my bad english... (because I'm not sure if what I'm saying is correctly written..)

it seems like there have been a lot of problems with all things concerning 8 bit theatre i mean theres all the technical problems you have been having and also if anyone has heard of packbell or seen brians posts on the main page, well its fairly self explanatory

Good to know the project's almost finished. My sister and I have been waiting for the flash since 8BT 3. And I'm glad the BM was recast...btw, the BM in Meddros' flash is gonna be the BM in 8BT 4?

I'd still make the perfect Black Mage. Seriously. Yeah.

So the new Black Mage better not suck. Cause y'know. I'd be perfect and all.
