Black Sabbath
Alright, there really isn't a forum on music and I decided to post this here instead of the Off-Topic or serious topic forums. Anyway, does anyone listen to Black Sabbath?? Opinions? Like them? Hate them? Reasons?
I personally like Black Sabbath. In my opinion they weren't metal. They played Classic Hard Rock and started Metal. This is just me though. I have two of their CDs and I still listen to them. I also think that Black Sabbath weren't devil worshippers like some people thought back in the day. They simply had an interest in the supernatural and the occult. Black Sabbath is one of my most favorite bands (probably the most favorite) and I'm glad they had that reuinion and hope they make more albums. Personally, music needs another change. Post.:) |
They have good music.
Period. |
I think they're a great band
but they're sooo ooooold |
Everything Ozzy and Dio is great.

They weren't Devil Worshippers in their music on the grounds that any of their songs that mentioned Lucifer, the Devil etc., were actually warnings of a sort. Most people just didn't listen close enough to tell that though.
Also, sorry about dipping into that for a moment, and yes, great music. |
Metal wasn't even around back in the 60's. They were rockers in the style of the Stones and whatnot (abridged list). You see an insurgance of speed, death, thrash, etc. metal in the late 70's, 80's (became more mainstream after crossing the pond...Motorhead anyone?) and early 90's. Then Nirvana ripped off a number of decent-good bands and destroyed a possible great new music genre and spawned the decline of music. To hell with Nirvana. I hope Satan is roasting Kurt's legs over a grill and singing the Burger King song.
"Hold the pickles, hold the lettuce....Special orders don't upset us..." I can smell them now...mmmmmm...Sinfully good. |
I'd rather rock-and-roll stay just under the mainstream, since everything in the mainstream goes stale pretty fast.

I am Iron Man.
Yea I enjoy Black Sabbath on occasion.... I laugh because if I happen to be playing them and my dad comes around he's says something like they just too loud for me. Which makes me LAUGH FOR FREAKIN AGES. I just listen to them With no more thought to there "heaviness, loudness" than the Rolling Stones of Led Zepplin. Old Timers... |
Awesome, they weren't devil worshippers!! I knew it!! But I'm curious, what was Black Sabbath's warning to the world about the supernatural and the occult??
BTW: And hey, I like grunge rock and Nirvana. But for those who didn't and liked the metal, Kurt and the rest of grunge did kill off most of metal. I bet if he was still alive, metal would have been taken out completely and rap, hip hop, pop, and all that stuff would have never stood a chance. And alternative wouldn't have started until a later time probably. This is just my theory though. |
Listen to Paranoid VERY closely...or PM me. I can't exactly say in the forums without getting in deep trouble with the Mods.
