"I kinda just wanted to thank you for saving me again. You seem to do that damsel in distress thing well." She looked down for a moment, "I thought you were gona for sure."
|
Monk looked down, "And I almost was too. I thought that death was the only answer for my life. I thought it would be my only friend for I had tossed away everyone else." He thought for a few seconds and pulled out the shiney green gem from his pocket. "But even in the artic I can't forget you." He put it into view of her. "I found this the first day I was there, and at that moment, I knew I was living a lie, but it was too late to change. Too late to turn back. Now death was my only friend."
He bowed his head. "It was true. I did die, but it was only to be reborn again, and I knew I had to come back to you. You and the rest of the team." He picked up her hands in his, "I missed you... I missed you so much. Jade... I love you." |
Jade was taken aback by Monk's statement. She then let it sink it, somehow it seemed right to her. She looked up at Monk's deep brown eyes. "I love you too."
|
Monk sighed as the words resounded in his ears, striking a very pleasing chord in his heart. Her voice was so sweet, so delicious to listen to. How he wished that he could remain in this position forever. It didn't matter where it was, when it was, nothing mattered. She was there, in his arms.
But reality hit him again. Not literally this time thankfully, but it hit him none the less. He looked down and took in a breath. "We still can't do this. God how I want to, but I know we still can't. It will only get in the way, right?" |
Angel got to his hotel, took a nap, then PDAP'd Devin.
"Hey man. I'm in Washington. Want to come join me for a veritable last supper? I ordered mushu pooooork." |
"Yes I know, I know too well. This is why I want to beat MM, I want a life. I don't want to be stuck here anymore. I've had enough with fighting, I just want to rest and not wake up wondering if I'm going to die today. That's all I want."
|
Monk let go. Not because he wanted to, not because he was forced to. He did it because it was right. How he longed for a life too. Waking up to breathe in fresh air, waking up to see a sunrise, waking up to see Jade's face next to his. That all he wanted, and there was only one thing in his way, and that was Mastermind himself. His so call father.
He took a step back and sighed, "We all want that..." He forced himself to turn towards the door and open it. "That's all any of us want. We all want peace, in any way we can find it." He turned his head and dropped it. "I'll be in my room meditating. Let me know when we are ready to leave." Taking in another hard breath he took the steps to his room and sat on the ground, keeping the tears in. |
Wolf had headed down to the armory to grab a couple M203 grenades. He had decided that it might be possible to swap the explosive payload of the launchable grenades for an EMP loadout. He knew how to do such things, mostly through what he learned while on the run. As he came back to his room he noticed Kaitlin was waiting for him.
"Can I talk to you for a second?" she asked. "Sure. Come on in," Wolf replied as he opened the door and they went in together. "So what's on your mind?" he asked. "This mission. It seems so...one way." she said. Wolf paused in thought. "Yeah...I've kind of been thinking the same thing, but it's not like we have a choice. We have to fight them or else global security is doomed." "Yes...but is it possible to win? I mean you saw how quickly Scrya moved. Even with your augmentations you're going to have trouble...and as for me..." "Don't even think about that." Wolf responded. "I'm not going to let them hurt you as long as I'm there." "I think you have enough to deal with without having to make sure I'm OK." she said. "Face it, I'm deadweight here." she cast her gaze downward, almost as if in shame. Wolf was in a mental quandry. He knew she was right. Even though she could fight very well, Scrya's siblings were something else, even more lethal than Agents. Her odds of surviving this fight were slim, and Wolf definetely couldn't protect 3 people at once. That left one simple option. "I know you've been avoiding this due to paranoia, but I think now you've got no other choice," Wolf said to her. "I think you need to get nano-augs." Kaitlin looked up. "...are you sure it's safe?" "Mastermind hasn't hacked mine or anyone else's," Wolf simply responded. "It's safe, although it does take getting used to." Kaitlin seemed to be deep in thought for a second, then she nodded. "All right...I'll do it." "Good. I wouldn't have reccommended it if there wasn't another way...but you were right. I can't allow you to be harmed, but at the same time I can't look after you the whole time either." "Well, at least this way you don't have to worry about me so much." she said as she wrapped her arms around Wolf. He returned the hug and then she got up to leave. "I'll go get the augmentations done now...it'll give me some training time before we leave." she said. "All right...let me know if you need any help." Wolf said as she left. When she was gone, Wolf set about converting an M203 grenade into a launchable EMP grenade. |
"Johnson! Something is wrong with Jackson I want you to look into it."
"He seems less useless. I'll take a raincheck. I've located one of the bozo squads helper monkeys. i'm about to go on route to terminate for your glory." Coyote located Jade 2 and transported himself near the location with a large black case. He had formed a tight bundle of data into a low callibur bullet. He put together the Sniper rifle. Jade 2 was walking around the Cyber forces Cyber world compound She was trainging at the rifle range. Coyote aimed the rifle at her right shoulder. He fired the bullet lodged in her shoulder. Jade 2 winced and ducked for cover. Coyote made it look convincing by putting down some extra fire. Coyote disappeared before Jade 2 could return fire. _____________ "You failed Johnson, and your defiance is wearing my patience thin. Something is odd about you and jackson. I want to know exactly what." _________________ When the bullet was removed from jade 2 it unzipped into lists of all of masterminds forces, holdings, and inventory. |
J2 had hid behind a wall when she realized that the bullet that was fired into her shoulder wasn't hurting, in fact it was downloading very important MM information into her database. She immediately contacted Jade...
"This is something you should see, I'm sending it to you now." J2 uploaded all of the information onto Jade's pda. Jade onced over the information, "looks like Coyote came through for us after all. Try and see if you can find a way of contacting him without alerting MM to have him go on a little mission with you and Beowolf." "Mission? What kind?" "The kind where he gives you control of an Agent and you all infiltrate MM's inner sanctum and serioussly screw up his database." "Sounds like fun, I'll get right on it." J2 contacted Beowolf, who was busy reformatting the Cyber Forces security systems. "Wanna go blow some things up?" |
