462: Bridges, land and imaginary suspension

I must say, there is method to Red Mage's madness.

Or madness to his method.

Or something.

Bridge over stupid waters

it it just me, or has RM degenerated from misguided nerd to Fighter-level stupidity?

Kurosen 09-25-2004 01:13 AM

Red Mage occasionally gets a switch flipped in his head and it makes him see things a little differently. He's special that way.

Pure Imaginary 09-25-2004 01:23 AM

The Red Mage of old at least had the decency to have an objective. Even though his plans were terrible, they were at least laid out in the absense of a viable alternative.

It's all gradually going downhill for RM (not unlike his value in FF as the game progresses).

I hope this ends with Red Mage going insane or something.

oh Lord, please let something happen.

AntiGnostic 09-25-2004 03:09 AM

This comic is proof that Red Mage is truly the greatest idiot ever to live. If he lived in a democratic republic, he could have been a consul. Or a prime minister. Or president.

As for the bridge "problem", I suppose RM could always freeze the lava using his magic (the same magic he killed the dragon with), thus creating a bridge for himself. And when that fragile strip of cooled bridge-rock is swept away by the lava stream, and RM falls into the molten rock, screaming in agony like a soul who had been cast headlong into abysmal perdition for all of eternity, I will laugh, and laugh, and laugh.

Unless, of course, RM bends the rules a bit and somehow gains heat/fire resistance before he hits the magma. Then he'll just drown in the lake of fiery liquid stone, his lungs being filled with scorching hot volcanic stew.

But that's just wishful thinking. Sadly...

Hm... On a side note, I wonder how much longer it will take for the Light Warriors to get to Kary (or will Brain be calling her Kali?). I would guess that we'll be seeing her somewhere around comic 1024, seeing how quickly the plot tends to progress. Sometimes I can barely keep up with it, it moves so fast :D

-AntiGnostic (hoping that the Light Warriors will have to take on the crazty-88 at some point...)

nah, remember that Fighter is so stupid that it bends the fabric of space-time back on itself. RM hasn't quite reached that extreme yet.

Ahem. (193)

I'm sorry, but Red Mage *HAS* been weird like this before. Just because your brain-things have repressed memories of this traumatic event, does not mean this is anything new.

Of course, last time Red Mage's delusions were stopped by stabbing, but this time Black Mage spared him that fate (at least, thus far). Does that mean that Red Mage will continue on his tangent to madness?

And it's Blackbelt that is so dumb it bend the laws of space-time. :B

yes he is very "special". That is why he was sent to the "special" school for "special" red mages. Though he didn't just get his wires crossed he missed the obvious. Something so obvious Fighter! was first across.

Dont know why :fighter: just didn't walk through it to begin with though
