Cold....2.0!
I wanted to post in the other thread ,but it closed so......
During the winter (I live in Alaska) it is about..... -3 degrees, when it's warm. When it's like that I'll open my window, turn my fan on max, strip down to my boxers, get a large cup of ice(my fav. snack) ,and put absolutely no blankets on. Oh, and I also sleep like this, with like, 6 ice packs on various parts of my body. If its closer to -30 degrees, I'll go outside and rapidly fire my M-16 into the air, then go curl up in bed with it (it gets very warm) and I'll sometimes burn something, then wait a few minutes before curling up with it. |
OK....
That's just weird.... Why do you deprive yourself bodily warmth? |
I live in the coldest part of alaska. A hot day is 6 degrees farenheight. I have no bodily warmth to deprive myself of.
|
Yes you do. It's called the "circulatory system". It keeps blood pumping and helps keep your body temperature at roughly the same temperature all the time.

Thedarknight, you are a god among insects!
I'm not sure I've ever heard anything so......so....fucking awesome! My only complaint about Alaska is that I heard some parts get really windy. I don't particularly care for wind for several reasons...Main reason: I have long hair. Anyways...that certain is the most peculiar way of keeping warm that I've heard of. Are there any other...eccentric ways of warming ones self? |

I think it's -400 something. I don't remember the exact farenheit (s/p?) measurement on that, though.
Hey, you know what Russians do for shits and giggles? They saw open frozen sections of lakes and jump in. ( No joke) Then they get out of the water and stand in the open in naught but their underwear. Most folks would go into shock at that point and die. Nope, they stand there, not shivering mind you, and laugh with each other. Neat, huh? |
Absolute zero is -367 farenheight. And I meant I don't have much bodily heat, my body was, at the hottest it's been here in 12 years, 27 degrees, this is possible partially due to the fact that I have a naturally high temperature. That meaning my temperature is always about 101.2

The human body REALLY can't adapt to changes in temperature very well. 38 centigrade is the normal human body temperature and even a few degrees hotter or colder is usually fatal. But that's internal temperature. The skin is a bit more tolerant, but still, if you did do what you said you did, you'd probably be dead. Several times over.
