V'hassa: Who're you calling a snake?! *very touchy about her predecessors*
I forgot to add in extra stuff about V'hassa's/Silvergem's ability, but then my character might seem too godmoddish. Then again, what the heck. MLA can just issue a firm "no" if it IS too godmoddish. When Silvergem pours a little extra mana (depends on duration of the illusion) into her illusions, she can make them *temporarily* (note the word temporarily) exist as physical objects (depends on amount of extra mana poured in), eg: fireball illusion + extra mana = OH THE BURNINGNESS!!!! wall illusion + extra mana = very hard thing And the effects of the illusion-gone-real stays (burns, bump on head if one foolishly walks into the solid illusion) Is that a little too godmoddy? |
IXIDOR!!!!!!!!!!
Sorry if that makes no sense, some of you may get it... |
*for an hour, chaos and confusion reigns, before Rhiya asks the burning question*
Buh? |
Reality Sculptor. Like Silvergem, he was originally an illusionist, but after becoming the avatar of Lowallyn (I can't spell it) his illusions turned to realities, and he could actually manipulate reality through his art.
|
Then he proceded to create Akroma and shit got bad. But thats beside the point.
Myst: The soul burn thing only works on sentient creatures (e.g. the playable races) when you're touching them, and even then they can still break away if they're too powerful. On regular creatures, it'll be like a black beam hits them, weakens them, strengthens you type thing, except you can only do one at a time and if your connection is broken, be it through a hit or whatever, it breaks and they're pissed. DB: The AC ideas good, but if Serra found any evidence of an advanced civilization, she'd prolly just get them back up. Plus, it opens up too many weapons-of-the-past scenarios. |
I was thinking that they were an extinct race, not just a fallen civilization.
Shit got bad because he didn't know enough about Phage, and why she was what she was, and his own clever strategy to fight her and Kamahl ended up creating thousands and thousands of nearly unstoppable Deathwurms. Crazy Ixidor....cool, but crazy. |
Hmm...it would seem the IHMN and Rhiya parts of my post were knocked off.
IHMN: Good little guy. I can't really offer anything, just let me know in advance if you come up with some super weapon. Rhiya: On the illusions becoming real...I'll give it a probation period. You can only cast inanimate objects, and it drains you and your mana the longer its corpereal. |
yeah, soul burn. Reasonable limitations. What's so bad about Akroma, I love it...well, all angels really. (guess what I play, guess?)
|
Akroma was originally a creature of total purity, a perfect being created of Ixidor's right arm, his Protector.
Because she was a creature of total purity and Phage (who she was originally sent to kill) was a creature of total corruption, her touch originally hurt Phage as much as Phage's touch hurt everything else. However, since they were complete opposites, they were also equal...though Akroma had the advantage in some ways. Kamahl interfered, and Akroma wasn't able to beat both of them. Akroma lost her legs, and when Ixidor replaced them with the lower half of a giant panther she changed. She was no longer pure, and rather more bestial...if you read the books, you see how she slowly turns cruel and savage after this point. Then, she launches a holy war against the Cabal. You see more evidence of this change when she fights Phage again, and Akroma's mere touch no longer wounds her. She was no longer perfect, no longer fulfilling her original role as Ixidor's protector after he sent her to kill, to be his instrument of vengeance. THAT's what's wrong with her! Ixidor turned her into a monster... |

Nuh, uh, a black/white combo is the best. They have access to Black Market, Pestilence, Urza's Armor, the black kill spells, and pro black creatures. In case you don't know those cards: Pestilence(click the link inside the link. It wouldn't let me link directly Black Market Urza's Armor Just FYI, each black mana you pay to Pestilence counts as a seperate source. |
Yeah, its getting warm and cozy discussing Magic and all, but I don't wanna scare off the non-MtG people, so maybe moving it to Off Topic or general would be better?
|
bah, it's not so bad...
sorry if it's spammy, though. Elminster, what did you mean about their names? |
RE MLA's post about the illusion thingy: That's what I was trying to say, I guess, before everybody went off on a tangent of Ixidor and his feats in creation and stuff (It's very educational, and I liked all the crap that went on, but yeah)
Silvergem's capabilities in maknig something seem solidly real and behave real really just goes as far as inanimate objects, but does fireballs and other stuff count? My view to animate objects is something that has a will of its own, whereas an inanimate object is something like a growing plant, a wall, a guided fireball etc etc. Please clarify. |
Rhiya, that would allow you to duplicate any other color's abilities for a short time. Think about it, illusionary Fireballs that deal damage, illusionary undead made real (probably I wouldn't be allowed to take control of them), illusionary healing spells, summoning of illusionary non-sentient creatures...
That sounds kinda godmoddy to me. |
*INANIMATE OBJECTS!*
Besides that, Silvergem wouldnt bother creating an illusionary spell. I'm assuming that naga always come with a fundamental basic spell knowledge, but specialize in certain areas as well, though that part is taught/self learned. Also, if that kind of illusionary ability is allowed, it would waste too much mana to maintain its solidarity, and it takes more mana to maintain the realness of an illusion than just casting the spell outright. She's not MADE of mana, y'know :P |
Fireballs aren't inanimate, but an illusionary wall that takes a lot of mana to make solid would be alright.

I just made up the name "Naerzul", didn't know it existed already...
yes, I know about the Monty Python Tim! I mean, who doesn't? |
Naerzul is the name of the Litch King in Warcraft III. Have you ever played it? Because, even if you've never gone through the campaign, the undead's acolyte will pretty much implant the name in your head. "For Naerzul!"
|
Now THAT is cool! I'm named after an undead Lich-King, WOOOOOOOOOO!!1!!!!!!! *does the victory jig*
Now, back to actual, on-topic, MtG stuffness! Or MLA can announce when this will begin... |
Rhiya, I think you're definition of (in)animate objects is more related to sentient-cy. Mine, and the one I'm sticking with is that inanimate objects have zero mobility, so that would be things like walls, while animate objects (the kind you can't make) are movers, like fireballs.
And this'll start soon, I just gotta finish up some chores and make the opening. |
I second, support, and agree with MLA's definition.
I think we're all getting antsy waiting for it to start, which explains the offtopicry of myself and Elminster...so hurry up and get those chores done!:D |
Ok, its called Tales of Jahe, enjoy.
|
Ok, sticking with walls and such then :)
