No no, he isn't a prince. Just some guy in armor with a title. If he is though, my guy would know it, so then he should tell me...

So then the only way he could be the next king is if he married the princess, which would piss of Raiden's guy something fierce.

Or if the king gets assassinated, but that doesn't neccessarily mean that he would be the king.

In fact, my guy would be king for a while(not really king, just be in charge) until a figure head could be placed...

It's not cat is king, just would probably make decisions(Wouldn't last a day before things were sorted out). Queens usually don't have much rule...

Captain of the Royal Guard...such a specific title means there are more...maybe the captain with the longest title gets it...and I was saying the princess would take over after we got her back...unless he dies at the begining...

And as head of the Royal gaurd I'd be best placed for a coup de etat. Celes said last night to me that my character is more or less the most favoured person in the kingdom to wed the princess. Which would make him the next king. Also let's cut out the spam while Celes is entertaining her guests. She'll be back around 10.

edit: there would be a leader of each of the regiments of the kingdom and they would be a captain. The captain of the Royal guard typically in historical settings was bothe the most competent, and most trusted of them. Thus the highest ranking military officer below the king. Take for example the Praetorian gaurd of the Roman Empire. They were powerful enough they could depose emporers, and elect the next emporer.

So Captain of the Royal Guard = Secretary of Defense.

So is that a wedding of conveinence, or does the princess love your person?

Cuz if its just conveinence, then Raiden's guy still has a chance...or maybe he'd be weaned onto Celes' character since they look alike?

Just because raiden's guy motivation is the princess, that doesn't mean he automaticly marries the princess, or they fall in love or anything...
