Body art
While I was out on the town this weekend, my partner told me that he had a tatto appointment. While there and looking over what they had to offer, I began to think about getting one myself. Yes, I do know about how they are going to stick with you for a very long time, so I'm not taking this lightly. I'm already drawing up a couple of ideas, and when I get them done, I'll put up a discription of them.
Thoughts? Ideas? Opinions? (PS: Yes, I did think of having a flame-scaled cobra put on.) |
Have something which means something to you. I see so many girls having what they consider trendy tattoos and then regretting it later. If you have something that symbolises something to you, no matter what, it won't annoy you. And avoid peoples names like the plague.
I'm hopefully going to get my tattoo done in the near future. A phoenix on my lower back. I just need the money for it first. |
Well, make sure that the person you are going to knows what they are doing. I know that most are very good at what they do, but some have no idea. It would suck to have a messed up tattoo and to have paid for it.
Where on your person are you planning to have a tattoo? |
Try getting a henna tattoo in your chosen pattern before getting the real thing. They last up to two weeks and you can find out if you're going to get sick of it or not.

Get a geek tattoo.

Hmmmmm
Get a tatoo of something that you think you will still like in a few years. Whaever you do, dont get one with a name in it. You might regret it.

While all the above posts are VERY (very very, etc) good points, tatoos aren't quite so permenant anymore. You can just get an operation to get rid of it that costs AND hurts more than getting the tatoo was in the first place.
Oh, and why don't you get a tatoo of black mage? Nobody *ever* gets tired of him! He's everybodies favourite anti-social, psychotic murderer! |
First, make sure that your tattoo is in regs. I don't have one myself, and I don't plan on it, but I'm pretty sure the tattoo has to be covered while in any uniform and must be small enough to cover up with your hand.
If redvsblue didn't change around their website, I'd direct you to their point-counterpoint about tattoos. Private Church has a good argument. If you really want to try it out, I'd go with Minion's suggestion of a temporary tattoo. Be very careful. It is my observation that tattoos get trashier as you get older. Unless you find a tattoo that prevents ageing, I wouldn't recommend it. But I can’t tell you what to do with your body. I just hope you are happy with your decision 10 years from now. |
Just imagine your tattoo all stretched, faded, or wrinkled in thirty years and see if you still want it.
