I think that Clint Eastwood is the best actor to ever star in a western. He has stared in the best and most long lasting westerns ever made.

My favorite Clint Eastwood movies are Two mules for sister sara and The good, the bad, and the ugly . These movies really show him at his best.

At first when I saw this thread, I was hoping it was going to be about that song by The Gorillas.

Anyway, I'd have to agree on The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly. I think that it is and always will be his greatest movie.

I don't know who I think is the best actor to ever be in a Western, but it isn't Clint Eastwood. I don't hate him and I like some of his movies, but he isn't the best in my opinion.

Also The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly.

Pale Rider was also nice as a Eastwood movie, but it's no Leone.

Can't forget the Dirty Harry movies...

Now, here's the real question: Who would win: Sean Connery or Clint Eastwood?

Just out of love for Sean Connery, I'd give him the cake. Sorry to the Clint Eastwood fans -- I like him, and he has all my respect, and I think he's bad ass.

But...It's fuggin Sean Connery!... He's just one of my all time favorites, so...well...I'm going with him just on that. But my decision is incredibly, and in almost every way, biased.

I know, its a toughie, isn't it?

You people must be deprived. The good the bad and the ugly, although a good Clint performance, doesn't hold a flame to five Oscar winner UNFORGIVEN or The Outlaw Josey Wells. As much as I love John Wayne, Clint has to be the best western actor. He paid his dues doing Spaghetti Westerns, and he clawed his way up Hollywood and directed almost all of his movies. I say Clint is the best western actor.

Clint Eastwood this, and Clint Eastwood that...Sure he's one of the best! Sure his movies aer always great! But hey! There are others too. And as we are talking about westerns...What's wrong with Open Range?
